This goalie recruit was talked about a bit on USCHO earlier this year with the UMN fans. The thinking on their end was that Patterson was upset about the promises for playing time this year (that have not happened) and may be bolting, leaving room for this goalie recruit.

Brad reported that Cichy will be taking Mario's spot tonight against UMD. Cichy got it over Toews. I'm a little surprised that Toews hasn't played more recently. He has really progressed since last year IMO.

Great to hear for Chay...not just hockey, but in general. It would probably take him awhile to get back into game shape...3 months off is quite a long time.

I don't think the Sioux absolutely need UMN to sweep CC in order to get home ice. Being that they play each other next week, that's where the big differences could come into play if UND can manage to sweep CC. Also, the last weekend CC plays DU, where UND gets MTU at home. If UND is within a couple points of CC entering that weekend, I like their chances.

Yowzers, that could be huge. Could he be using a commitment to an NCAA school as leverage to an OHL team? I forget the name of the player last year that committed to UND and then bolted...

Nicely done. Word of the day? We've been in similar situations in 3 or 4 of Hakstol's years as head coach. Was it two years ago (I think that's right) where UND was sitting at #23 or something like that in the PWR at this time of the year? That team needed to put together a serious streak to make the NCAA's. Last year we had a horrible OOC record that almost killed our NCAA hopes. Three years ago UND was 3 or 4 games below .500 at Xmas time and had to put together quite a run as well... It seems like every year Hakstol's teams have had to mount good 2nd half runs just to ensure good WCHA and PWR standing.

Fudge! We need his one-time ability back on the PP. Our PP has been horrible lately.

I'm game to play in this again. Thanks for putting it together again. Would be cool to get the PB gang involved as well... With three groups, we could do sticks in the middle.

You're forgetting the fact that if you even touch Roe, he'll fall to the ice like his hero Robbie Earl. I'm all for the refs calling some diving penalties on Roe this weekend...

If 6 WCHA teams make it (definite possibility), the NCAA committee is going to have to make some tough decisions about where to put them and who to pair them up against. Right now we have: 2 DU 3 UW 4 SCSU 7 CC 9 UMD 10 UND If the season ended today the WCHA would have 3 #1 seeds, a #2 seed, and 2 #3 seeds.

Agreed. I wasn't sure where she was going with that, as that's not what I saw either. Perhaps she is listening to Sloe Gin's rants too much? I think this part of her quote says it all: How long were these snippets?

Does anyone know if Rau is even considering UND? Or will he end up at CC like his brother or a MN school?

If the game were played with today's rules, the 87 team would spend about 3/4 of the game in the penalty box. Of course, they were talented enough that they would probably still make a game of it.
