I thought the last 10min of the 2nd period were all UND. Multiple posts and great looks right in the slot, they were throwing multiple great chances at the RMU goalie but he came up big.
The 3rd period certainly wasn't UND's best effort. But a win is a win, so I'll take it regardless. The big name players stepped up at the right time.
Now it's time to take it to the Gophers.
The Sioux really dominated at times tonight, but the RMU goalie played very well.
Plus, UND hit three posts I believe (Malone, Kristo, and Genoway).
Hopefully the Gophers didn't get too confident by playing the HS kids.
Redline Report ranked UND's 2011 recruiting class #1 in the nation:

Almost all of those schools are already interested in him. He's a top notch recruit, so they'd be nuts not to be.

The U18 team also had those three NAHL players join them for the Sioux game that didn't play the night before against Fargo.
Not that it matters too much.
A win is a (exhibition) win.
So for next year, we have Gregoire v2 (St. Clair), Gerbe v2 (Grimaldi), and VandeVelde v2 (Miller) coming in.
Not to mention O'Donnell and MacMillian, who are both putting up great points as well.
I'll take that!
I can't wait to watch Grimaldi next season in a UND uniform.
That kid is made to play college hockey with his size, speed, and puck skills.
He's going to be a heck of a player...
Correct. Rocco will be at the WJC USA camp along with Forbort and Nelson.
Too bad, would have been fun to see him at the Ralph a year early.
That said, hopefully he makes the WJC team so that we can watch him during that...
Huge blow to UW...Zach Stepan is heading to OSU according to internet folk.
He had listed UND has a possible college, but I don't think many expected him to come here.
UW, on the other hand, with his cousin Derek having a good collegiate career at UW...many were already penciling him into their future recruiting class.

That was from May of this year...
Sounds like Fasching has narrowed his choices down a bit:

That said, a Gopher poster on USCHO mentioned that Fasching committed to the Gophers a few weeks ago, but that it won't be announced until next spring.
Not sure if that is true or not.
Players being NHL ready has never stopped players from leaving early from college.
That said, I wouldn't be surprised if both Blood and Gregoire are gone after this season. Kristo's slow start might keep him around another year, which would be great.
