  1. Yeah they are. Hakstol should take notes watching their PP work on the ice. Simply amazing puck control and chances created. 5-0 at the end of the 2nd. The TSN webcast is crystal clear. Very nice.
  2. I always thought Schroeder was one of the better passer/playmakers on the UMN roster. That said, I'm not sure what happened to him this year. He seemed dominant last year, and this season he's hardly noticeable at times. Was Stoa that important to his success last year? I'm really liking the play of Kristo at the WJC so far. He's flying around and creating chances almost every shift. He really stepped up his play within the last month or so for UND as well. Hopefully he can come back from the WJC and continue with that type of play. Once we get a healthy Genoway and a confident Kristo back in the UND lineup, the Sioux will be a difficult team to play against.
  3. Normally I would give the nod to the Sioux with how poorly ND has been playing this year, but missing three big time players is going to hurt UND, especially on the PP. First things first, get past Niagara and worry about the 2nd game on Sunday. I agree about the PWR. Two more OOC wins would be huge for the Sioux.
  4. Making that swap would probably create the fastest line in the tourney...
  5. No doubt. The NCAA line of Stepan, Kristo, and D'Amigo is the USA's most consistent line...they're always creating chances.
  6. Yep, and from the sounds of it, they filled his head full of nonsense. He wants to be in the NHL in 2 years...sorry kid, that's not going to happen regardless of if you play at Michigan or in the OHL.
  7. International hockey is more wide-open than NCAA hockey. Remember how much Parise and Toews dominated this tourney when they were there? And then they came back to WCHA clutch-n-grab hockey and couldn't produce as much.
  8. US wins 3-0. Kristo looked good, but no points to show for it.
  9. Kristo has been showing off his wheels all game. The announcers are impressed with him. US scores again. 3-0
  10. Always nice to upset the Canada crowd. Donovan scores, 2-0 US with 7min left in 3rd.
  11. End of 1st period. USA 0 Swi 0 Nice back and forth action. Both goalies playing very well.
  12. Stepan with a great chance, Swiss goalie with a good save right in the slot. Now D'Amigo with a quality chance. US with some good rushes, but the Swiss goalie is playing well.
  13. US and Swiss still scoreless with 6min left in 1st. US just killed off a big 5x3 PP for the Swiss.
  14. IMO the goaltending has been the achilles heel for the US in recent years of the WJC. They need a really strong team to compete with the Canucks, and with subpar goaltending it just isn't possible.
  15. Well, technically, he may never be an engineer, but he is already an (RPI) Engineer.
  16. Yeah, he got the POTG for the Slovaks.
  17. US wins 7-3 Kristo with 1g/1a and had plenty of other chances. BSU has a recruit on the Slovak roster.
  18. Blais has Kristo running the point on the PP as well...
  19. US scores again off a nice pass from Kristo. 2 pts for Danny now. 7-3 US
  20. Schroeder pounces on a loose puck in front. 6-3
  21. Agreed. Kristo, Stepan, and D'Amigo have really stood out to me. The US appears to have great team speed (which we also saw against UND), but I still think Canada has them beat on fundamentals (at this point).
  22. The US needs to work on their PK. 4-3 US
  23. Donovan PPG, 4-2 now. Momentum: US
