Atte Tolvanen from NMU had his 5th consecutive shutout tonight. Now 2nd all-time in NCAA scoreless streak (he passed Cam's number from last year tonight). Pretty impressive. He can break the NCAA record next Friday against Mankato.
-
5 PPG's in this game, neither team has a PK.

Yep, and I'm winning the lotto tonight as well! OSU 4, UMN 2

How is that even possible? WTF -
We'll be flying in once again from AZ, assuming UND makes it.

NORTH DAKOTA vs. SCSU - SATURDAY Gameday ********
brianvf replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
I sense a sweep coming unless Cam and Jost play. -
To be fair, that happens to them once every couple years being that they host so frequently.
-
Jost injured (?) Boeser playing injured or at least not scoring points Cam injured Abysmal home record this season I'd say we're lucky if we don't get swept. Hopefully the boys play with loose sticks and come at SCSU like they did Saturday night vs CC. Stop hitting the goalie in the chest.
-
Looks like QU just ran into a hot goalie tonight like us. QU outshot ASU 55-19 in that game (including 28-1 in the 3rd) but lost 4-2.
-
Where the heck is Boeser been during all this mess? Has to be a disappointing season from his standpoint. Might as well come back next season Brock to show that you can get points against league doormat CC too!
-
I don't recall Schloss saying anything like that last week when Cam let in a couple softies...including that brutal one from behind the goal line (an old LJ-style goal). Every goalie has their good games and bad games...Tomek hasn't really been given a shot to show us much yet...as was mentioned above, few would have thought that he'd have a great streak in front of him after watching him during that LSSU game early in his career!
-
They got swept by them in a Tues/Fri series by a combined score of 7-2. Curse of the #1 team I guess.

That sure turned around quickly.
-
So much for him getting his first tonight.
-
ASU played a 2-game series against Southern New Hampshire that counted toward their stats. That'd be like UND playing Minot State and Boeser's 7 goals would count for NCAA play.
-
I can't get behind a blowout win...I just can't see it happening after the butt kicking last weekend. I could see this one being pretty close. I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
-
Haha, I remember that exact conversation since one of his highlight videos had him popping his jersey after a goal. "Seems more like a UMN recruit". Haha! Geez, that was awhile ago...
-
Boeser essentially out most of 1st half...now Jost out. Hoping he just misses CC. Ouch.

I really wish Stecher would have stay for his senior year. Would have drastically changed the dynamic of this team. Looking at how they have done in the NHL though, he (and Schmaltz) were ready for the jump.

Agreed. BU definitely has an amazing recruiting class this year, but they have a history of having one-shot "great" teams and then faltering for many seasons in a row. I see this as no different for them this year. They have the talent to win it all this year, but if that doesn't happen...they lose 3 seniors and (by my count) as many as 6 early departures from their current freshman/sophomore classes. The 2017/2018 season will not be kind to Terrier fans. 2009 National Title 2010 Didn't make NCAA Tourney 2011 Didn't make NCAA Tourney 2012 Lost in 1st round NCAA Tourney 2013 Didn't make NCAA Tourney 2014 Didn't make NCAA Tourney 2015 Lost in National Title game 2016 Lost in 1st round NCAA Tourney They may have persuaded the studs to join their group this year, but I'll side with what Berry and Hakstol have done at UND over that any day (even if it means sticking with our "weak" recruiting classes).

I think your counting is a bit off. From the link you provided above, I show 3 NCHC teams and 3 Big Ten teams. 1 Minnesota-Duluth 59 15-5-4 .7083 5 .6002 1 2 Denver 58 16-6-4 .6923 6 .5960 2 3 Boston University 57 16-5-2 .7391 3 .5919* 3 4 Penn State 56 16-3-2 .8095 1 .5893* 4 5 Western Michigan 55 13-6-3 .6591 12 .5720 5 6 Union 54 17-5-2 .7500 2 .5702* 6 7 Minnesota 53 14-6-2 .6818 8t .5639 7 8 Ohio State 52 12-4-6 .6818 8t .5636* 8 9 Vermont 51 16-7-2 .6800 10 .5618 9 10 Massachusetts-Lowell 50 15-7-3 .6600 11 .5598* 10 UMD (1), DU (2), and WMU (5) for NCHC. PSU (4), UMN (7), and OSU (8) for B10. 3=3 So your post wasn't really fact at all...nor opinion. It was just plain incorrect.

Good call. He may not have scored much in the first half, but he did learn the #1 UMD trick in the playbook....sell the dive!
