I agree about putting a plaque or something like that in the lobby or in the concourse instead of a banner from the rafters. The plaque could briefly talk about how great this team was in the history of UND teams, and how they (and every other NCAA hockey team) was robbed of the chance to go for the national title.

2020-21 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
brianvf replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
Returning a very strong goaltending duo plus the Hobey Baker winner is a good start. -
K'Andre Miller from UW is now gone as well. He was a soph.
-
There’s always next season for that.
-
Suspended instead of cancelled. Take notes, NCAA.
-
Details? Sorry stuck at work.
-
Postpone makes perfect sense rather than cancel like they did. Postpone it for a month or so and see where we’re at. If we’re still knee deep in corona hysteria, then cancel. If not, get those tourneys rolling at campus venues or wherever. To just not have a champion after 9/10 of the season is played out is crazy.
-
Agreed on both.

While I certainly feel for our seniors and seniors on other teams, that would create more problems. Much like all the over-reaction to corona hype will cause more issues than the actual virus.

It’s not an opinion, it’s fact. There are people that haven’t gotten tested or won’t get tested but still have it. The true number of cases will always exceed the reported cases.
-
You’re assuming that the reported cases is equal to the number of true cases though. The number of true cases is much higher.

The season that these boys just had was special indeed. Seasons like this one don't come around often. Would they have won the national title...who knows, but they were certainly one of the frontrunners. Really have to feel for the players, especially the seniors. Great season, team.
-
No use buying the stock if you don’t believe the market will recover.
-
Sounds like Miller is close behind.
-
Suspend is different than cancelling though. The NBA can just suspend for a few weeks and then resume. Could the NCAA do that? Maybe, but rescheduling all the arenas would be harder than the NBA just continuing their seasons in their own arenas. Crazy times.
-
Yeah no doubt, gonna be a lot more people tuning in now!
-
The Upper Peninsula?

https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2020/03/11_Breaking-Harvard-Forfeits.php This is pretty dumb. Close the arena to the public? Sure, I guess if you think that will help slow the virus. But for the Harvard admins to ban the team from playing in the postseason? That's ridiculous. They could have had a shot at winning the conference title and advancing to the NCAA postseason...instead their season is done. Word is that Yale might follow suit and withdraw as well.
-
For sure, gotta get out of that dumpster fire. Caufield next?
-
It'd go to Cornell if they use the poll. They would have reason to be elated with that news, being that it's the only way they'll come close to a national title this season.
