  1. Split! UNO has been good at home.
  2. I always think of that DU team that beat us in Colorado Springs in that regional final (2004?). I remember UND just crushing them in the regular season (like 8-2, 6-2 type games). Then a 1-0 regional final and they run the NCAA table and then repeat again the next year. This UND team has shown potential to play with anybody. They just can’t do it consistently so having it happen 4 games in a row seems hard to imagine. Plus they need to make the darn tourney first.
  3. This team hasn’t hit rock bottom yet. CC 4, UND 2
  4. At this point, we have to be praying for a split.
  5. I'm calling it now. This team won't make it to the Xcel. They also won't make the NCAA tourney. They are just not a good team this year. Hopefully 18/19 can take a step forward.
  6. Worst in the country supposedly. Except for when they play UND's putrid PP.
  7. This team needs a bolt of energy. Will they get it tonight? Heck, will they get it this season?
  8. UND back on the PK.
  9. Penalty killed. 17min left
  10. UND really came out flying.... PK
  11. Which team are you picking?
  12. Super important weekend, both for PWR and conference standings. So I guess that means split.
  13. The NCHC does for league standings.
  14. I would take that bracket for UND. Some decent matchups there...could make for some surprises.
  15. But how many of those four points were phantom assists?
  16. Yeah, I meant to pass them in the standings...it could shape up to be something like DU, SCSU, UMD, UND, WMU or similar and then UND gets WMU for first round. We'll see, still a lot of hockey to be played.
  17. 3-way tie for 3rd now between UND, UMD, and WMU. All teams played 16 games except 2nd SCSU and last Miami (both at 14 games). UND's best shot for home ice would probably be to beat WMU, which has been struggling after losing a couple players to season-ending injuries. Then they'd probably see WMU at home for first round. Need to take this week off and hopefully get healthy. With how offensively challenged this team is, we need Jones, Gardner, and Bast.
  18. I don’t think anyone is getting used to it long term...we just won the title 2 years ago. That said, this year we might have to accept that UND will finish mid pack. But a nice run could change that. Can they do it? Who knows.
  19. I’d say that looks about right unfortunately.
  20. UND is a mid-NCHC team playing a team that is a front runner to win the NCAA title. It sucks that UND couldn’t close out last nights game after going up 2-0, but at least they got a point out of this series. So yes, that is what this season has devolved into. This team could easily break the NCHC playoff and NCAA streaks. I’d love to see them go on a run at the end of the season, but I’m not sure it will happen.
  21. I’m not faulting Smith for the hit on Plant from the series in Denver. That should never have been a penalty let alone a 5. That was more Plant running into Smith more than anything. Last nights hit though, I’m fine with the 5 and a game suspension for that. That’s going by the book as it should be called.
  22. I think he was more saying that UMD could pass SCSU, preventing UND from traveling to Duluth for first round. UMD is on a roll, they could definitely pass both WMU and SCSU.
  23. I think I've watched 5-6 DU games on TV this year. I'm pretty sure that Plant has gotten injured (to the point of having to leave the game) in every single game I've watched. Is that possible? If he's having that many issues, Monty needs to keep him out of the lineup until he's actually fully recovered.
  24. Tonight's lineup screams SWEEP!!! For DU.
  25. The goal should be to just take no penalties. After watching the PK vs UMD, that might be our only option.
