Only thing I can think of is that if the coaching staff already knows that one or both of JBD and Kierstad are coming back and JT knows as well. Then with Sanderson and Kleven coming in too, he doesn't want to get put in the same situation of sitting again next season. -

https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/hockey/5026392-UND-defenseman-Jonny-Tychonick-to-hit-the-transfer-portal Tough blow, especially if both JBD and Kierstad are depart. I wonder if more was going on behind the scenes here...he always seemed to play so well and then get sat. -

Cool to see the note in the article that mentioned that Adams and Mismash were two of Jordan's first phone calls after he decided. Would love to see the three of them come back for another go. -
Sounds like a great pickup...hopefully his scoring can translate to the college level quickly. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/hockey/5010150-UND-incoming-freshman-Riese-Gaber-wins-USHL-goal-scoring-title

Gooch is returning for his senior season! Huge news! Bring home the Hobey and National Title in 20/21! -
Two CC players in the transfer portal: Sam Renlund and Bailey Conger. Conger has already transferred once...going from Providence to CC for a year at each. Maybe he can become the first NCAA hockey player to play for 4 teams, just play one season a piece at each school!

In the CHN simulation, UND gets past UMass to reach the F4: https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2020/03/28_NCAA-Tournament-Weatherby.php -
That’s gonna be a blowout. No way that #1 UMN loses that one.

Maybe put it in the Fire Berry thread? Gooch also won Forward of the Year, Smith got robbed on Defensive Forward of the Year, Poolman won Defensive Dman of the Year, and Pinto won Rookie of the Year. -
Perunovich from UMD has signed.
-
Nice who are WMU and CC bringing in to be at #2 and #5?

WMU's soph dman Samuelsson signed with the Sabres. https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2020/03/25_WMUs-Samuelsson-Turns-Pro.php

University of North Dakota Hockey 2019-20 Season

Congrats to Gooch and Pinto! Smith got robbed. -
Cornell played a grand total of 3 games all season against teams that made the NCAA tourney, and never on back to back nights. Michigan turned it on in the 2nd half, and were 7-1-2 in their last 10 games. They played 12 games during the season against teams in the NCAA tourney. IMO, Cornell was the definition of a team not battle tested against quality opponents. Any team they faced in the NCAA would have been one of the best, if not the best, team that they'd faced all season. That doesn't bode well for them rattling off multiple wins. I'd take Michigan in that 1st round matchup.
-
My guess is that Michigan would have gotten past Cornell in the first round.

Those Corona death numbers are for the world. The drug overdose and alcohol related deaths were just for the US. I wonder if the hospitals would be as overwhelmed if the media hadn't blown this up? We'll never know.
-
If those were the actual brackets, my guess would be: UND, Mankato, BC, and Denver to advance.
-
I've lived in both. Meh.
-
That's correct! It's all adding up.
-
Those deaths per day will have to start increasing very quickly if that’s happening. Over 3k/day instead of the actual ~300 in the past month.
-
That's ok, I'd grade the experts that project over 2mil US deaths a worse grade than that.
-
Only a few more until we hit the projected 1.1-2.2 million US deaths. Once we start hitting 4k deaths per day, we'll be right on target.
