Unfortunately I won't be able to attend the Frozen Faceoff this year regardless of if UND makes it or not due to work circumstances. So I'll be selling my 3x ticket packages for both sessions (Friday & Saturday). Wish this team could prove me wrong, but the time to turn around this season was weeks ago. They'll either get blown out tonight, or they'll keep it close then find another creative way to lose at the end.

They were in compliance. But if UND adds WH back, they'd have to add a men's sport as well.

He's barely playing for ASU (only played in 16 out of 34 games) and only has 1g/1a in those 16 games. Ouch.

Schloss had a telling stat in his weekend rewind about how UND has gone 2-3-1 in the last 3 weekends against CC (5th), UNO (7th), and Miami (8th). That's the season right there. Those are the games that you need to win and this second half was really setup well for a good run...they just botched it. Imagine if they went 4-2 in that stretch how much better they'd be situated in both NCHC and PWR. Those are the things they can look back on when they're hitting the golf course after the 1st round NCHC series.

Hopefully we have a couple freshmen that surprise us next year and then have a soph or two break out. But you're right that there's certainly no blue chipper on our list...

I always wondered if Spiewak and Notermann's dads took offense to any of the crap that people posted. Both of them posted on here during their son's time at UND. Speez still posts here from time to time, but I haven't seen Notermann's dad (I forget his username). I had the pleasure of meeting Speez a few years ago at a tourney, good guy.

It shouldn't be too much of a surprise, the exact same thing happened after our 2000 championship as well. Two seasons after that, the 2002 year was the worst in recent memory and the last time we didn't make the conference playoffs or NCAAs. I remember watching UND get crushed at home by Mankato (combined series score of 12-4!!) and thinking that the slump had begun. They finished under .500 and had their season ended by UMN on the road in the first round in 2 games. All of that happened just two seasons after a national title, and one season after a national title game appearance.

This has more to do with UND second half struggles than anyone else. With the parity this year, I could see multiple unexpected teams winning their conference tourney, which will take away more spots. I don’t think UND would be safe at all staying at their current #14.

SCSU has little to play for other than retaining their #1 rank...not sure how far they can fall if they lose. Of course, Miami had absolutely nothing to play for this past weekend and they took 5 of 6 points. I'm guessing we see some domination from SCSU, I'm hoping that UND can sneak out a couple points but it's not likely with how they're playing.

UND somehow still in 4th, but a bad weekend next week could see them slip all the way to 7th. Geez. One win against last place Miami would have really been a nice help. Avoiding traveling to Denver or Cloud for the first round would be ideal, but with how this team is playing it probably doesn't matter who/where they play for the first round.

Did they seriously just get 17 sog for an entire game against Miami? A team that has nothing to play for.
