DU stands to lose a ton this offseason. Wright for sure gone. Doubt Guttman or Stapley use Covid years. Brink, Savoie, and Chrona will get pressure to sign, for sure. That'd be 5 of their top 8 scorers gone plus their goalie. Mazur and Rizzo will be a good core pair, but they'll get all the pressure with all of the above likely gone.

The good thing about that is that there's only like 15 total DU fans on social media, so you don't hear from them much anyway.

What a 3rd period meltdown for Mankato. They completely dominated the first 5 periods of this Frozen Four, and then collapsed in the last period.

I wanted Mankato to win, but keeping it in conference is good too. Now we'll just need to win next year to get into a 3-way tie with 9 titles.

Mankato had 2 full periods of playing well but now DU is getting multiple chances. Even if Brink wouldn't have gone in the crease there, that would have been a great chance.

1 goal in 22 games isn't ideal. Hoped for a bit of a progression from the previous year where he had 4g in 28 games.

We still have a logjam even with Calder leaving: Super Senior (2) - Senden, Hain Senior (2) - Caulfield, Albrecht Junior (4) - Gaber, Jamernik, Ness, Budy Sophomore (5) - Schmaltz, Costantini, Portz, Kunz, Montgomery Freshman (3) - Blake, McLaughlin, Strinden Still at 16F even with Calder entering the portal. Unless we're planning on running with 16/17F for this upcoming year or more players from above enter the portal. Or if a different freshman is coming in rather than Strinden.

Pulling a big gun off the portal. Getting a top recruit to flip. Something fun like that?

Nice! Talent-wise that's a no-brainer, but I bet there's gonna be some butthurt UM fans after he got 1st team over Powers/Hughes despite missing half the season.

He scored 11 this year on a team that was more offensively challenged than what I predict next year's will be. He was also injured so missed 5 games...and I don't think he was fully healed when he came back because he tailed off after that injury. Even if he was 3rd line, I think he'd be 10+ goals.

Agreed. Would rather we see 1-2 other players enter the portal before him. He could have been a 15-20 goal scorer for us next season.
