There were a couple stinker recruiting classes in there that seemed to put the program back a bit IMO. A couple after the 2016 title and then again after the COVID dominant years. Seems to be an uptick lately at least, we have some very solid recruiting classes on campus and incoming. Hopefully that translates on the ice at some point... I'd still take our last decade over BU and UM...they may have more F4 in that span, but we still have the 2016 title while BU's latest was 2009 and UM's 1998. DU, obviously, is on another level recently.

That is unfortunately pretty accurate from what we've seen the last few years. Eaves "sucky" years were ones that UW finished below .500 (sometimes well below). Seems that Berry's sucky years are one-n-dones or narrowly missing the tourney. Berry was unfortunate that his last "peak" seasons were right when COVID hit which resulted the whole season being cancelled in our best recent year and then the 5OT debacle the following year. If he was gonna win it, it needed to be in one of those two years.

No, a lot of those players played more years at their second school than they did at UND. Example...Blaisdell two years at UND, three years at UNH. Tychonick two years at UND, three years at UNO. Etc. Also, the vast majority played their underclassmen years at UND, then transferred out to different schools for their upperclassmen years. I think we've all seen how much better NCAA players get (typically) for their JR/SR/GR seasons when compared to their FR/SO years. Just look at Caggiula.

2024-25 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
brianvf replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
I'm confused. Last weekend there was an article about the PP woes. This weekend, there's an article about how the PP is ranked #4 in the country. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/power-play-bails-und-out-in-series-opening-win-over-robert-morris Either way...not enough 5x5 goals. And not even talking about the poor PK. -
Worked a couple times last night. If teams start to key in on that, they can utilize bumper guy...they've done that a couple times too, although I don't recall it working for a goal as of yet. Boisvert is such a natural goal scorer. Will be fun to watch his progress over the next couple (hopefully) seasons.

The streak ends.

I was talking about how Jammer's injury will prob be long-term...because it seems most of the injuries have been long term lately. Wasn't talking about tonight's results...we should have easily still had the horses to hang 5-6 on RMU.

Miami has that locked up, again.

Either they got cocky after their epic sweep. Or something about us not being very good at all.

Until he wakes up tomorrow morning and can barely walk... I really hope it's just a bruise. But, if that's the case...

The hockey gods will turn on them soon. They have to.

They had two earlier in the 3rd...they're gonna need another!

ASU attempting to end DU's streak. Still 8min to go...

Cornell sure hasn't looked that impressive except for their opening weekend against us.
-
BSU played STU and tied 2-2 but won the SO.
-
Yeah that would be my guess too with Komzak taking Monty's D spot. Certainly not ideal but our lineup hasn't been ideal since the Cornell series. We've seen too many of those posts the last few years....

Going 5-0 in the next 5 would certainly be a boost.
-
As of current results, UND moved up 3 spots to #20 in the PWR
-
Agreed. Need to be much much better tomorrow.

Feels like a loss.

No. I hope they don't if this OT ends in a tie still.
