If UND wins tonight, you have to start Sat game thread too.
-
haha classic.
-
Unfortunately looks like Penner is on the injured list too, according to the Force line chart tonight.
-
Haha great story. I remember that the UND offense wasn't flowing very well through either game that weekend. They beat Princeton in the first game but got heavily outshot (I had to go back and check the boxscore...UND won 5-1 but got outshot 39-18...Duncan with the hatty). And then in the UW game, Duncan's game tying goal in the 3rd that went post and in...that was the loudest post shot I'd ever heard in a game before...it echoed thru the Kohl Center.
-
The last time I was at the Kohl Center was for the UND/UW regional semi-final that Kozek won in OT. There were a few more fans there that night. And all us UND fans were high-fiving each other on the way out.
-
Of course!

Notre Dame gets their first win of the season, winning 8-2 against SLU. Former CC and UM player Werner led ND with a 1-3-4 line. Michigan remains undefeated at 5-0 with a 4-2 win over RMU. UND traitor Perron gets his first G as a Wolverine. MSUM and UW end in a goalie battle 1-1 tie.

McKamey needs to get in Maddox’s ear about coming along to UND. Could make a dominant line of ASchultz - BSchultz - MSchultz at UND in a few years.

The all-time records are different because of games that were played in the early days of UND hockey when they were still considered a club team. The UND side excludes those club hockey results from the overall all-time record between the two schools. The UMN side includes those games.

We have all those restaurants in our area (that you mention in your first sentence) in AZ...and agreed. Cane's has good sauce, Popeye's is decent. But they're all just like any other fast food. But when I'm back in GF...it's a steady diet of Blue Moose, Paradiso, Red Pepper, and some Taco John's thrown in too. You just can't beat those places that you ate at for your entire childhood/HS/college days.

Wouldn't mind seeing an Augustine shutout or two this weekend. -

Crazy to see that Michigan has scored 26 goals this season in only 4 games, but somehow Perron only has one assist so far (and even that was a secondary assist). I'm sure he'll get his points, but with very similar TOI to the other forwards on that team, he's falling behind quickly. Agreed on Sacha...that one is still annoying. He would've had a monster year. Top 3 centers of Boisvert/Reschny/Rickwood? Damn. Not sure who on the team wouldn't have come in though if he would have stayed. Either way...still hoping that we take out both Michigan and BU in the NCAA's this year. -

to me, he reminds me of a Jordan Kawaguchi type player. Except Guch had a slightly better shot and Mac is a slightly better passer. But I imagine that their progression will be similar. They had very similar stat lines their FR years at UND (Guch had 5-14--19 and Mac 2-16--18). Guch had a good SO season (26pts) and then exploded his JR/SR years. -

2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

His vision and passing are elite. You don't get to be the USHL Forward of the Year and USHL Player of the Year without being elite. He obviously had some adjustment time last year coming from the USHL to NCAA speed, but I am guessing he will have a big leap this year. And even bigger leap next year. He's gonna be a really fun collegiate player to watch progress...I'm glad we get to watch it in a UND uni. -
Anything can happen in big rivalry weekends. Many times in this series, there have been times where the "lesser skilled" team has won. Just look at the timeout game as reference.

Updated Commit Stats as of Oct 12: Williams healthy again and had a nice couple games upon his return. Lindberg already has as many goals this season as he did all of last year with the U18 team. Hopefully going back a year will benefit him in the same way as Laurila. Heil has been dominant in net to start the season. Forwards B. They've had a nice current recruiting cycle...even picking up a few very good non-MN players. Still no CHL or any even rumored to want to go there. Their last recruiting cycle was pretty bad though, and I think they'll feel that for a few years.

As some of us were talking about (and hoping for) during the off-season...this team passes the eye-test. Last year, they had flashes of skill and good play, but they never passed the eye-test for the entire game. I know it is early. And I know that there will be some rough stretches with how young our forward group is. But this team looks the part. Faster, no question. Better passing already after two games. Relentless on the puck. I've seen more takeaways in the offensive and neutral zones than I remember from half the season last year (led directly to one goal each game). How fun is that 4th line? Dang. Might be the best 4th line in the country with how they're playing.
