2024-25 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
brianvf replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
If ever there was a team that could really use a bye week, it's this team right now. Unfortunately they won't get one until after the SCSU series in mid-Dec. Berg will miss the crucial stretch of RMU/BSU/Miami where this team really needs to go 6-0...5-1 at absolute worst. -

Berg out this weekend again now too. Last time we played a top 10 team without Berg, things didn't go too well. All these injuries are getting really ridiculous to start the season. I think that means that every available skater will be playing again. -
Deaner! It's too bad what happened to Sutton...kid could have gone #1.

Three current recruits were selected to the WJAC roster for Team USA. Heil, Laurila, and Zellers https://teamusa.usahockey.com/2024wjacroster Also, former player Matt Smaby is the head coach.

I think there's a solid group here that have played hockey. A good group of us used to play in a pickup game against the GPL group each year during the Final Five in Mpls. Those were good times.

Gonna be a tough series. DU is playing some solid hockey. Hopefully we can get a split...their SOS is considerably weaker than ours, so hoping that those tough earlier series can help. -
It was kind of crazy that amount of players that whiffed on pucks yesterday for UND. Monty did like three times in one shift...luckily one of them ended up leading to Strinden's goal. Wiebe did it twice on one-timer attempts from the point. James did it a couple times, including once on a great 2x1 rush.
-
Zellers will be a special collegiate player. He’s a goal scorer too. Having a couple elite goal scorers like Zellers and Boisvert will be great with all the playmakers we have in OMac, Swanson, and Perron.
-
I see us and DU being front runners for a lot of the top WHL talent.
-
Good tip. That line was still noticeable, but just couldn't get one to click. Perron seems to be gaining confidence and his speed along with James is very evident. Jammer is a beast out there most shifts. Cool to watch his progression.
-
Assuming DU beats Lindenwood, the CO schools DU/CC are a combined 18-0 so far. Dang.
-
Berg crushed it in faceoffs...went 12-1 tonight. Livanavage with another 2a...excellent weekend from him. It's between him and Pohlkamp for DPoTW.
-
Is anyone watching the ASU/CC game? I see the shots are 38-18 ASU...is ASU really outplaying CC that much or are they just throwing everything on net from anywhere on the ice?
-
We did move up 14 spots with the sweep this weekend. We were at #30 before the weekend...now sitting at #16. DU sits at #1. Of course, the PWR is pretty volatile this early in the season, so it can change pretty dramatically each game.
-
Sweep. Step in the right direction. Not sure what to expect next weekend. Crossing my fingers that we can hand DU their first loss of the season.
-
Agreed on that first shift & few minutes. Don't give UMD any momentum. Keep playing tight defensively and keep TJ locked in. Bring this home, boys!
-
Some decent puck movement on that PP. Setting up a bit different.
