Lately it seems like there's been 1-2 one seeds losing in first game.
-
I would LOVE to see it happen though.

https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/und-once-again-ready-to-play-without-key-players-as-ncaa-tournament-arrives?fbclid=IwAR2bNCBEz8GMwrNMaZ5r-XqcqOc5GL_vS9gTGk4ok0QlmFfazBYzbUMs3Ak As expected, Sanderson, Hain, and Montgomery all out for the regional games. This doesn't make me optimistic.

Man, a UMass-Lowell pick for national champs. Wonder what the Vegas betting odds for that would be.

Glory days.

I bet Cates leaves too rather than return for his extra covid year. And you have to think the majority of their seniors will leave...Sandelin can't risk messing up his recruiting pipeline by having 6 of his seniors return. Olson might get some offers to leave rather return for his senior year. Even if Olson returns, they still will lose 4 of their top 6 scorers from this years team. If their seniors leave, they only return one goal scorer (Biondi) with more than 6 goals scored on the year.

Similar to "putting on the foil". Anything to get him on the ice this season still.

That's my two main recollections of that UNH game. Watching the 17OT lacrosse game waiting for the game to come on...and then Finley sailing that puck 10 feet over the glass instead of just clearing it out of the zone at the end of regulation.

I think you mean MTU.

Same here. That was a hard loss to take. Outshot them 40-20, and the game certainly looked like pure domination. The Trupp/Malone/Frattin line alone had as many SOG as the entire Michigan team. http://www.collegehockeystats.net/1011/boxes/mmicndk1.a07

Now watch Ottawa pushes him to sign right away and then he's in their lineup in the next couple weeks.
-
Awesome, thank you so much, as always! I actually have both Thursday and Saturday off this week, so that worked out well.

Mankato will be a tough out for sure (they have beaten some strong teams this year) but definitely the least battle tested of the four #1 seeds. They've scored the most goals in the NCAA this year, but they've also been able to play St Thomas six times, scoring almost 40 of their 167 goals against that one team alone. Have to get past Notre Dame first. Strong defensive teams have shown to give UND troubles before (UMD, BSU, etc), so hopefully they can score early and force the Golden Domers to open up a bit.
-
If that's the case, then so be it. They should change his status from week-to-week to out indefinitely to end speculation. Like when he got injured at the Olympics and he was day-to-day for a month.
-
I usually go by anyone but DU, UMN, UM, BC, BU, UW, and UMD. Three of those teams didn't even make the tourney this year, so that was lucky. Two of the others are in the same regional, so that's nice too.
-
My biggest concern for the postseason is our special teams. They knew all week that Sanderson and Kleven weren't going to be able to play against WMU, yet those 5 PP chances looked like they just threw 5 random skaters out there for the first time. I'm sure Notre Dame will be preparing their PK by watching tape from the WMU game. I think we got a favorable bracket compared to others, hopefully the team can take advantage and advance! Also, someone get Sanderson some ibuprofen and tape up his hand so he's ready to go! Go Sioux!
-
Let's get this party started! One and done from here on out. Let's hope the boys come to play.
-
Agreed. Plus I like that we didn’t get paired in a regional with another NCHC school.
-
Haven’t seen ND play this year so no idea what to expect. They did beat Michigan four out of five times, which is impressive.
-
ND vs ND it is!
-
Looks like CHN doesn't list transfers until they've actually selected a new team.
-
https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/playerMoves/ BU, BC, Merrimack, and UNO all already with 2 early departures or transfers.

That's probably the first time that Mariucci has been full since they left the WCHA. That would only help them in recruiting if a potential recruit missed their last 100 home games that were 10-30% full.
