  1. I like that addition to the schedule and playing a new team like Lindenwood. Even cooler that is has the UND connection with Zombo coaching them. I'm more excited to see a fresh face on the schedule rather than Bemidji again. As long as this doesn't happen again:
  2. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/college-hockey-coaches-hear-about-the-potential-transformation-of-ncaa-sports Lot of changes being discussed at the coaches convention: These changes would definitely benefit the bigger "blue blood" programs compared to the smaller.
  3. Right? That's crazy. 5 goals in two seasons with UND (48 games) 6 goals in two seasons with WMU (71 games) He's been playing in Poland ever since his NCAA career ended. A couple guys on that list had immediate impacts in NCAA hockey...others took a year or two to get up to speed. But none of them just disappeared like Cichy.
  4. From Schloss: Certainly some offensive talent coming in next year. It'll be fun watching them progress and seeing how well their game translates to the college level.
  5. He just turned 19yo, so he certainly could have come in this year. Another year in juniors certainly couldn't hurt him though (just like Spicer! ), as his stats this year finally started to look a bit better.
  6. Then just don't have one of the super regionals in Minnesota every year. Problem solved.
  7. Daschke and Linden had the highest point totals in the portal for a D and F.
  8. Good pickup for them.
  9. With all this speculation about Pearson, Berry should put in a feeler for the Fantilli brothers in case they want to avoid all the drama surrounding this Michigan debacle. Do a swap, Montgomery and Budy for Luca & Adam. That'd put us at 16F / 9D / 4G since Luca is a D, but I'm sure Berry could do some juggling and make it work.
  10. I’m confused. I thought recruits decommitting only happened to UND?
  11. Gonna be a lot of movement in these last 9 days before May 1st. Players need to pick a new team otherwise they'll have to sit a year. Doubt we see many new players added to the portal at this point.
  12. I don’t agree. Did you read the article? And McKays statement? The 6mo suspension is more than enough punishment IMO.
  13. Or play two years at ASU while trying to acclimate to the college game, then transfer back to your home town school in hopes of actually winning a championship for your upperclassman years.
  14. He can't even get to the title game with the most talented college hockey team in the history of the sport! We don't want him!
  15. +1 I've only met him once myself, but from that interaction and how he presents himself and represents the university...you can definitely tell that he is a standup, good person.
  16. Just a hunch that he'd probably stay closer to home...my guess is UMD/SCSU/UMN, maybe MSUM. A couple of those teams experienced some heavy forward losses and might promise him playing time right away.
  17. Unless he goes to a "lower tier" college, he won't be getting top 6 minutes or PP time. If he goes to a college similar to UND, there's a very good chance he'll be getting low minutes or sitting in the stands watching the games. That's not gonna do much for his development, for sure. 2-3 years from now, no doubt he could/should be an impact player at the college level. Trying to rush that though might cause some issues. As a local kid, I hope for the best for him, but this is an odd decision to me (as a complete outsider).
  18. Agreed. It was "their year" for a lot of teams this year, but only DU capitalized. A lot of teams could see a step back next season...UM, WMU, SCSU, etc...all of them returned so much but didn't take advantage. Hopefully UND can get some good results this upcoming season with all they return. It's their turn to take advantage of all the teams that got depleted this offseason.
  19. Knies and Cooley along with Faber on the backend are going to be a good trio for them. They lost some good players but they'll be strong again next year.
  20. You realize this happens at every major college hockey program, right?
  21. Cruikshank is transferring from UMN to SCSU.
  22. Agreed. Also agree with the take that Spicer might be panicking a bit…he would very much benefit from a year in the USHL and be able to contribute right away next season. Instead he’ll get bottom 6 minutes on a different team. This feels like the Donovan situation all over again.
  23. https://www.duluthnewstribune.com/sports/bulldogs-hockey/umd-mens-hockey-laderoute-jacques-returning-to-bulldogs-for-fifth-season Looks like UMD is returning a couple of their seniors for 5th year...Laderoute and Jacques.
  24. Been awhile since we've gotten a Shattuck recruit, it seems.
