In this scenario are we Holy Cross, or is RIT?

CC got CHN's team of the week: https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2022/12/13_Team-of-the-Week-Colorado.php Cool to see CC getting back to a contender. I'd much rather them make the NCAA tourney than say, Duluth. Kaidan Mbereko appears to be the real deal for them in net...he'll be a force for them for a few years.

2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

But most definitely need a sweep of Lindenwood. Regulation wins. Anything less would probably be a death blow to PWR similar to Canisius sweeping us a few years ago.
-
6-2 or 5-3 in those 8 games keeps moving us in the right direction.
-
Completely agree. January is huge. 8 games and all of them very winnable if the team plays like they did against WMU. February is a much tougher schedule (four games against DU and SCSU who both swept UND earlier), so if they're gonna move up the PWR and NCHC standings, they need a big January.

Geez...nice goal from QU

The lines are starting to gel a bit more and Berry has kept a couple of them together for a few weeks now...like Hain's and Blake's lines. I think barring injuries he has a good base for four solid lines that all serve a purpose. I still think a couple lines will be modified a little bit depending on how some players do in practice, etc during the week. You know Costantini / Kunz / Johnson will be put in the lineup again, which they should be. I agree with an earlier poster that said Blake / OwenMc / Gaber could be poised for a great 2nd half...that line has so much skill and is fun to watch.

That’s just Gabinet being Gabinet. Isn't he the only coach the stand up Hennessy for radio interview?
-
NCHC standings now have UND ahead of Miami by 5 points. But only one point behind WMU and UMD. Three points behind UNO. Five points behind CC. That next NCHC series against WMU at REA could be a big swing.
-
DU beats UMD 4-3 in OT Really nice steal and snipe by Thompson from DU.
-
Yeah if they can keep playing like this weekend, they could get a run together. The #3-7 spots in the NCHC are really tight...one good or bad weekend by a team could see them moving multiple spots.
-
I checked out their schedule earlier. They're 13-4, but of those 17 games, only 3 (2x UConn and 1x Prov) have been played against teams that are more than one game above .500. Their SOS is pretty weak and they only have a few more games left against teams over .500 as well. Unless they seriously tank, they'll make the NCAA's, but they sure won't be battle tested when they get there.
-
Yeah loaded up with HEA and B10 teams for sure. ECAC with only 1 but Harvard knocking at the door to join at #15. And then MTU is the top CCHA team at #16 currently. Still a lot of season to go but hopefully UND can get in there and join the NCHC teams and maybe some of the HEA and B10 teams will fall off as they play each other more.
-
Man if the season ended today, the B10 would have 5 teams in the NCAA (almost 6), while the NCHC would only have 2 teams in.
-
Still some games to finish of course, but moved up 3 spots in the PWR to #21 with the win.
-
Can't believe they kept the top scoring team in the nation to 2 combined goals in 2 games. And kept their potent top line off the scoresheet all weekend. No team has done that all year to them. Very impressive. Team defense looked much better than what we saw last weekend. And DeRidder...with a .962 save % for the weekend and a shutout to boot. Might be NCHC Goalie of the Week with those numbers. Rest up, heal up. Keep it rolling against Lindenwood in the 2nd half. A solid performance there could put them back above .500, which would be huge.
-
For sure. Outshot them 12-7 and outscored them 2-0. That's a great way to close out a 1-0 game.
-
Might have been the best 3rd period effort we've seen from the team all year.
-
Their top line especially. Not a point all weekend thus far...that's insane.
-
Miami crushing #3 SCSU, 5-0, toward the end of the game. Didn't see that coming.
-
Everyone is gone if they get scratched? I'd hope not. But who knows. I'd hope they both stick around and keep getting better to earn more ice time as upperclassmen.
