  1. I feel like that strategy has been employed long before TJ joined the team. Hopefully Dane is just attempting to start a goalie tandem approach. If we see Spunar tomorrow, regardless of Homer's result tonight...that would possibly indicate that.
  2. Dang, that's some changes. Kernan goes from sitting in the stands to the 1st line. Strathmann and Littler sitting. Homer starting. Spunar tomorrow regardless of result tonight? That 2nd line needs to score and those 3rd/4th lines need to shut down the opponent...and maybe pop a goal or two.
  3. Schloss Preview: https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/preview-how-special-teams-have-dictated-games-for-und-minnesota-duluth We'll see how UND does against UMD's aggressive PK. If our passing is off, could make for some brutal PP's to watch. His prediction: My prediction...if we hold UMD to only 4 goals total, we sweep. That said, I don't think we hold UMD to only 4 goals.
  4. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/und-entering-weekend-on-eight-game-winning-streak-against-minnesota-duluth Some pretty crazy winning streaks as of late in this series: On Menghini playing his old team: Also a mention of who will start in net tomorrow...Dane didn't give any hints but it'd be hard to go against Spunar after he pitched a shutout last game.
  5. Especially if that news was correct that some CHL prospects reached out to him but he turned them away. The other top B10 teams all added multiple absolute stud CHL guys and other than Mooney, there's not a ton of high-end skill on MN's current FR group.
  6. UW beats UMN 5-2 and outshoots them 43-16. Gonna be a long season for the Gophers...their Sat night win against us might end up being the highlight of their season.
  7. It would be if they hold him out for the rest of the season (less than 30% of games played). I imagine that if recovery goes ok and he can play by end of Dec/Jan, that they'll get him back in the lineup.
  8. Northeastern with their 2nd big win in a row, beating BC 4-1. Both of their wins against DU and BC they got outshot by a ton but still came away with the win. BC now 2-3-1 on the season.
  9. Yes for sure. I don't imagine we'll have much trouble with Mercyhurst, even if we're missing some WJC guys. But BSU has given us issues lately...all those darn trap teams.
  10. It'll be fun watching MSU steamroll PSU next week. After playing almost all cupcakes for the season, they won't be ready to play a team of MSU's caliber.
  11. Dang. Last drill of practice too. That's really too bad, he's been very consistent...all you can ask of a FR. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/und-forward-josh-zakreski-out-longterm-with-lower-body-injury Heal up quickly and fully, Josh!
  12. 2-1 now early in the 3rd.
  13. If the website was going to implode this early in the season, it prob would have been after Friday's Clarkson game. Bryn Lyndsy Chyzyk
  14. First one...probably won't be the last from players not getting significant minutes or putting up loads of points like they do in the CHL:
  15. UMD got Team of the Week from CHN, so hopefully that is a curse for them.
  16. Swap Liv, Wiebe, Zmolek, and portal departure/pro signee TBD for MacKenzie, Lindberg, Carels, and DuPont. Would lose a lot of NCAA experience but gain a crap ton of talent/skill.
  17. Updated Commit Stats as of Oct 26: Pilgrim piling on some points lately...3-5-8 in his last 5 games Both McKamey and Penner back playing again from their injuries Forwards B. Schultz (USHL Waterloo) - '05: 10gp - 1g/3a Pilgrim (USHL Tri-City) - '06: 13gp - 4g/6a A. 18. Tyler Young gets his chance: https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/tyler-young-provides-a-spark-in-his-und-debut
  19. Preston is the catch from the WHL forward group IMO. I think he would really thrive in the NCAA...super fast, shifty type. Would love for Bryn to lock him down.
  20. I think they could coexist for one season. Losing Liv, Wiebe, Zmolek, and maybe Emery from our current group of D opens up a lot of playing time for both Landon and Keaton to play.
  21. That's what I was thinking too. Put Croal/Zak/Littler on them and hope that those boys can keep the puck away from them as much as possible. If they can do that, we should be able to "out-depth" their other lines hopefully.
  22. Some really good shooters coming in. Both Cooper's can rifle the puck. You could put those two and Zellers all on three different lines and have a sniper on all of them. Combine that with hopefully Reschny and Verhoeff spending another year in GF...plus some CHL studs (looking at you, Landon). Next year could be another step up IMO. I know we'll lose a lot on the backend, but really like what Bryn and Co have lined up.
