  1. You are something else...
  2. I don't think it gets much better than Clay Matvick.
  3. Really awesome we had a game that got Tate in there...and what better game than his very last at The Ralph. I was hoping he'd see a few more pucks.
  4. Haha, yeah, just read that right after I posted. Good to know. The Final Five tickets still are a factor!
  5. I agree a little bit. However, it'd be nice to have swept because it would have locked up our spot in the NCAA. A loss tonight puts that in jeopardy now. Also, having Final Five tickets makes me nervous as well.
  6. Awesome, thanks for the link!
  7. What's funny is, the only reason people hate the Yankees is because they are good almost every single year. There is really no reason to hate the Yankees at all. They have strict dress and appearance codes for their athletes and are typically the professional standard of their sport. Now, someone will say, "well, they buy their team!" So? Don't blame the Yankees because they can afford to buy better players...blame MLB for the lack of a salary cap system. So, what makes the Yankees and Gophers alike, also makes them very different. Yes, both teams are either "you love 'em or you hate 'em", but people hate the Gophers for many reasons other than just being good. For the record, screw both the Yanks and the Goofs!
  8. The Zane vs. Clarke controversy is way more interesting than it needs to be. Zane is a MUCH better goalie and has a chance to be one of the best UND's ever had. But, boy, it's hard to say that with some of the softies he's given up this year. Clarke is good, but his potential is far less than Zane's. We've seen Saunders' best, I don't think we've seen Gothberg's. When Zane is on, he's on top of the crease, he can make hard saves look easy, and he gobbles up way more shots preventing rebounds than a lot of goalies we've had in recent years. If he'd just stop giving up some of those really weak ones, we have a stud in the making. I say we ride Gothberg, especially for tomorrow. If you pull the kid now, I'd hate to see his confidence shattered if we need him in the real playoffs. Scold him for his mistakes, but put him back in and tell him "you're the man, now go win us some games."
  9. Kristo's second goal was a nice greasy one for sure, but that toe drag in traffic to get him the opportunity to shoot it off the goalie was sick.
  10. Hmmm, my memory must be going in my old age. I recall that Toews, Duncan, and Crosby were all supposed to ride up together, but for some reason Crosby couldn't make the trip. I wonder if he visited any other colleges.
  11. Connor McDavid is just on a whole different level. That guy is a stud. It's like comparing Nugent-Hopkins to Crosby. Both first overall picks, both very good players, but Sid is on another planet in comparison. That's not a knock on Noel at all, just a compliment to McDavid's game. I hope Noel can get to campus at some point to see some UND hockey. Getting 'em there is a good start. Speaking of Crosby, it's too bad he couldn't make it up on the trip with Duncan & Toews like he was supposed to. Never know what may have happened!
  12. A 7th round pick is a 7th round pick. Yeah, you're not getting elite talent necessarily, but why even have a 7th round of the draft if you get nothing from it? What were the Wild supposed to get for a guy like him?
  13. Everyone harps on Derek Shepherd, but the Anderson/B Shepherd group has been way worse for years...especially Todd "Botox" Anderson.
  14. Chay got away with his size in the college game...I just can't see him getting away with it long-term in the NHL. If I were a GM, I'd either consider acquiring him as a forward or not at all, personally. I like Chay, but he's just not an NHL type player. To get a 7th round pick for an undrafted guy like Genoway is a pretty fair deal for MN.
  15. Tech is a lot like Bemidji. Both teams can be tough if you give them an opportunity to stay in the game. Their season is on the line, so they'll be giving it their all.
  16. THIS YEAR: Back-to-back games won: 4 Sweeps: 3 Four-game win streaks: 1 (MTU & Holy Cross sweeps...actually was a 5 game win streak with a Sat. win against Denver the week before) LAST YEAR: Back-to-back games won: 5 Sweeps: 5 Four-game win streaks: 4 This team just hasn't been able to put strings together. Last year's team was very streaky, and were hot at the right time, just ran out of gas and against a better Minnesota team. I'm not sure the team is streaky enough to put four NCAA wins together all against stiff competition. I'm not saying they can't, but it's been awhile since we've won four straight games against tough opponents except for our WCHA Playoff Runs.
  17. Looks good to me. Do to my work schedule this winter, I wasn't able to watch as many other games as I'd have liked, but I doubt Mac will get third team. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, but these votes definitely tend to favor the offensive defenseman.
  18. Kristo, Knight, Schmaltz
  19. Our goalie won that one tonight.
  20. OT Game Winner & Player of the Game for Canada West http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLHMrb3DR50 Sick Shorty - Looks more like Oshie than a defenseman
  21. Good thing it's silver since they're a second-rate conference.

  23. I think there's only two teams that are going to finish about as high as they possibly could of...St Cloud and Mankato. Coming into this year, everyone wants to win the McNaughton, but I think a top three finish (if we pull it off) is a very good result for the team we had. We had a goaltending situation coming in that hadn't proven anything. A new coach was behind the bench. Rocco was coming off what seemed to be a pretty bad knee situation. Nelson left and lost some good leadership in Blood and Mario. There were a ton of freshmen/sophomores last year that needed to take a big leap forward this year (and I feel many did). All-in-all, the result likely won't be us winning the Cup like we all wanted, but finishing top three in an insanely tough conference is commendable...and we still have a solid shot at #8.
  24. The Sioux didn't win...so go cry about it.
