  1. A couple of the guys from this team came to the mall while I was working. I talked to them a bit. They are a junior team out of Canada just down to watch. I asked what their names were and didn't recognize either (nor remember what they were).
  2. I think Lapoint is one of our top 4 defensemen right now. He hasn't had any costly mistakes, he puts himself in some of the best positions out of anyone on the team, and he never tries to force anything with the puck that could lead to stupid turnovers. Also, when in transition to defense, he plays the body of the opponent really well and usually never lets anyone past. Along with that, he's been more physical than I thought he would be. He isn't going to be a bone crusher (yet), but I think he's been doing exactly what he should. Opposed from that, I thought last night was probably his worst game he played this year. He was a hard skater at times, but he was out of position a lot as well. Just my $.02. Now all the GF locals are gonna stone me.
  3. Nope, wasn't kidding...I didn't make it up.
  4. I think it will be the same lines as what we saw Saturday at MTU. The VV-Osh-Duncs line combined for 4 out of the 6 goals, so to say that Duncs hasn't contributed I'd say is wrong, he just hasn't put it in the net as often. Teams are pressuring Duncan more than ever, which will just leave more oppurtunities for Chris and TJ. I'm not saying a line change won't happen, I just don't think it's likely. I'd still like to see a Oshie-Kozek-Duncan line, even though the sticks wouldn't match up right. Those guys would fly and they are all snipers.

The replicas aren't...they are the same material as the regular replicas, except they have some venting areas, like the real jerseys.
  6. Saw it on the WCHA site today: Click here

As Sioux-cia said, they aren't, but there might be a movement to them in the next year or two. However, that may not be the case either depending on how/when Nike leaves the hockey market since they are planning on doing that. We shall see. If we went Reebok, they could potentially have their RBK Edge jerseys (similar to Nike Swift), however, as mentioned already, they've had problems with those in the NHL.
  8. The one guy looks hostile and abusive.

I think they'll fit snugger slightly, but they are the same materials as the other replicas. Nothing like the authentics.
  10. I've never heard of autograph signing, but if you hang out near the visitor bench about an hour before the game, he might be around or ask a coach or something, I'm sure they will hook you up if you are nice about it.

A swift jersey is nothing like the regular black jerseys except the obvious...they are both black. The swift jersey is a new style of jersey by Nike first introduced to college hockey last year (is used in international play as well). They are form fitting (a snug fit, not a loose fit), the materials are way different, and the striping on the jersey is different as well. Fonts and number styles are different as well for names/numbers. The reason they are popular is because the Sioux used it as an alternate away jersey last year and it was used in some of the most important games down the stretch, including the entire post-season (Frozen Four appearance). The black jersey you have won't be used ever again (according to sources). Hope this helps

I was there a few days ago and they didn't have them...they haven't had the authentics for a long time as far as I can remember. Game worns are nice....definitely WAAAAAAAY different than the replicas. The K1 version at Scheel's is way closer to my game-worn compared to the Nike one. The only thing that makes the Nike one closer is the swoosh on it...big deal. Also the K1 version is 40 bux cheaper.
  13. Ralph dying is a significant occurance. A once-in-a-dynasty happening. I don't see them wearing blacks just for fun this year, or ever.

    K1 version is better IMO.
  15. Nice little one timer in front of the net five-hole from a pass behind the net.
  16. Umm, no you won't. They only wear Home Whites.
  17. KOZEK FOR HOBEY
  18. Ooooh, now you make sense...
  19. Nice joke Diggler...everyone knows Brett Favre isn't human! GO PACK GO!
  20. His legs looked tired early and often, but you could tell the kid had skill. It will be nice to see him in action when he gets his legs under him a bit more and he can get some cohesion with a line. Things are looking nice for him.
  21. I hate to play devil's advocate here, but...if the Radke story is true, imagine the rage around here if a Gopher player did it to a Sioux fan. There'd be HELL to pay around here if you're a Gophers fan. And anyone that disagrees with that statement is so biased and unjournalistic that posting on these boards is irrelevent.
  22. Finally a weekend where hundreds of my hard-earned dollars aren't being spent!
  23. good call.
  24. Some of the responses like the one above mine are all very true and show that UND Hockey is a better level and more successful team than NDSU Football. However, it doesn't prove that UND Hockey is more popular than NDSU Football in the state of North Dakota. Hell, if people LOOOOOOVED volleyball, Mayville State volleyball could be the most popular team in North Dakota if that's what people thought.
  25. If Kozek can grind, and is mainly used as a grinder on this level, then to me he's a grinder. We all know he has the ability to be put on a top two line because of his intensity and scoring ability, but he's good at hitting people and making people work. So, if he's used as a grinder, I dont' think it's wrong to label him a grinder. Also, I'm just that good to notice it after game 1.
