  1. I somewhat agree on the blacks. They just don't "shine" per-se like the other two in my eyes. Going with something completely different might be very cool as well, I'll keep tinkering.
  2. As promised....the blacks. This time with a potential "C" on it.
  3. Gophers are pansies ("What? That's not an argument?") I'm gonna go get my popcorn ready for this thread.
  4. In regards to adding black... There were some thoughts of adding some, but I had some reasonings behind how I designed them. 1) I wanted a fairly unique design to the jerseys, without being overdone. 2) I wanted to go back to the Sioux hockey roots of mostly just white and green. Until 1984 (so for almost 40 years), there was virtually no black on any jerseys. However, they still wore green pants and helmets. 3) It's almost impossible to avoid looking like another team. So, with my previous two reasonings, it's inevitble to have the same white/green color scheme as MSU. The jerseys are very much different than any MSU jersey though. You can argue that Boston U., Cornell, Miami, and Wisconsin all have very similar jerseys, so having merely the same color scheme as MSU is no big deal IMO. Glad you guys like them though.
  5. Here's my green away version. Was working on the black alternate version before my program crashed (first time it happened, so not sure why). I'll finish it later... Added the white ones again just for a side-by-side comparison.
  6. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, so no offense taken if you disagree. I just think that everyone, no matter what age, should be able to use whatever language they decide. To say it's "pathetic" is wrong. I know as many people older than teenagers that use the term as teenagers themselves (whether they use pwn[ed], own[ed], whatever). It's all over TV and it's a part of today's culture. You don't have to use it, but to say it's wrong for someone else to because of their age is an uneducated statement. My opinion.
  7. What makes you better (or above) any other individual simply because of age? Honest question... You never used rhetoric or slang before, even at your wise, old age of 38?
  8. Great article.....too bad it has no influence on anything...
  9. Fair enough. I'm not discounting your statement, nor am proclaiming my following quote to be pure truth, but I like to think that "you're only as strong as your weakest link." A lot of times your role players define your destiny. Sometimes that's not the case either. Obviously you need a few great talents on a team to win a title, but you still need players to make those guys as good as they can be, and to make the team as good as it can be.
  10. The Spartans can beat anyone, you are right. However, I distinctly recall a curb stomping we gave them at the Ralph to kickoff the 2007-08 season as the previous meeting before the GLI.
  11. By providing a game-like work ethic every single practice, making his teammates better that way. (see 2008-09 team awards)
  12. I haven't followed your guys' argument much, but Walski can be considered a key member of our Frozen Four teams, despite him not being that great.
  13. Wings scored on a hard-to-swallow penalty on Toews.
  14. I actually looked at doing that, but thought the combo looked the nicest.
  15. Thanks everyone for the comments. I'll see if I can whip up a white and black version as well.
  16. Right, I'm not saying they're not. I'm just saying that the three shown are probably just some ideas Gemini sent UND seeing as all three are completely different styles. I don't see us having three completely different looks.
  17. I don't think these are the final looks to the 09-10 season, hence the reason there are 3 completely different styles shown. It's safe to assume we ARE getting new uni's, but I think these are just some mock-ups for the school to look at getting. I sure hope they don't do any of the 3 shown.
  18. Agreed, very cool seeing those guys one last time.
  19. If PRO-Sioux nicknamers (like myself) decide to treat the Native Americans with disrespect after the nickname is dropped, all it will do is prove the ANTI-Sioux nicknamers right. If anything, after the nickname is dropped, we should all support them even more, just to prove that we meant well with the nickname.
  20. Something I whipped up out of boredom waiting for graduation to start.... Anyone like? There are two parallel shoulder stripes, one is showing on the front, one on the back. I used the, what I presume, will be our new "ND" logo on the front. And, of course, with green pants My goal was to make something a little more "PC" friendly for our coming years.
  21. Gee, the black one has an original design...
  22. Those are nasty if you ask me. They look like the cheap off-brand jerseys you'd get.
  23. I think the Crosby-Gretzky comparison is similar to LeBron-Jordan. Each played in different eras and essentially in a different league. Would Wayne put up those same stats today as he did back in his time? Maybe, maybe not. I don't think anyone would complain about having Crosby on their team. It's unfair for players who just go out and play the game to get comparisons of the game's legends. Look at QB's of the 70s and 80s in the NFL compared to QB's today. There were great QB's then, but the game was so different that the stats are no comparison. Am I a Crosby fan? No. I just take him for what he's worth, and he's someone you have to pay attention to every shift he's on the ice. I think it's fair to say that Crosby has done considerably well for someone of his age and with the amounts of pressure put on him. He's already taken his team to a Stanley Cup final, and is putting his team in position for another appearance. Winning is what matters, and Sidney, the leader of his team, has done that so far, despite not having his name engraved on that coveted trophy yet.
  24. Stay tuned....and save your money.
