3rd Annual 2009 Oshie Sports Celebrity Golf Tournament
Big A HG replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
I know I already posted in the other thread where Goon mentioned the tourney, but before anyone asks, it's a 5-man scramble format (your four-some plus a celebrity). Also, the post-tournament meal put on is worth the fee of the tournament alone, no joke. Last year there was all-you-can-eat chicken, beef brisket, and ribs that were slow-cooked in the group's smokers all day, among lots of other delicious things. I couldn't move when I left... -
2008 Oshie Sports Celebrity Golf Tournament In Grand Forks, ND
Big A HG replied to Yttrium's topic in Men's Hockey
Definitely a great time and worth the money! Both of the first two years were awesome and I know team slots are filling for this year (won't make it this year unfortunately), so get out there. -
I thought about this last year, but don't think I ever posted it... Now, this is no knock on Looker, but how cool would it be to have Michael Buffer do intros, on ice, for the Friday night game of a UND-Minnesota game at The Ralph? I remember when I was in high school, two other high schools in the area (about the same sizes as Red River and Central) who were big rivals had Buffer do the intro to the game. It was a nice little fee I'm sure, but the schools sold t-shirts to fund-raise for it and I think they came out pretty even while putting on an awesome show. Imagine hearing Buffers infamous "Let's Get Ready to Rumble!!!!!" right before the puck drops.... (try getting a ticket to that game!)

Yep. Still finishing an online class which I can finish in WI. I'll be done in August, then I can apply and stuff.
-
Not at the moment....unless I can find another blank authentic Nike jersey to replace it with. If I can find one, I'd happily sell it. And thanks for the well-wishes AZ. There's nothing like watching a hockey game at The Ralph, so it will be hard having to TRY and catch more games on TV. I'm sure I'll be more interested in the satellite thread when it pops up again when the season starts trying to figure that out haha.

Private collectors and when the team sells stuff....assuming you are referring to the Sioux stuff.
-
And the key point you mentioned is "by the team." Did it matter though that it was only one game? They won the game without him the next weekend by four goals, then lost the game in Gwoz's return in OT....to UAA nonetheless. Heck, maybe he shouldn't have been suspended at all and the WCHA knew more than we did.
-
Haha, that ain't even all of them. I have a game-worn Bina swift, game-worn green Watkins, a white authentic (not game-worn) LaPoint, black authentic (not game-worn) Smaby, white 87 replica that's blank (might sell this too), a USA swift that I want Oshie's name/number on, a K1 brand white dazzle that I used for autographs once a few years ago, a blue Sioux practice jersey, a bag full of about 60 or so patches (Frozen Fours, UND125's, game-used numbers/nampelates, current Sioux crests, and others) four golf bags full of clubs/hockey sticks, and 27 Air Jordans still in the boxes that I bought in high school, among a few other random things. There are a bunch of people who have collections I can't come close to though, so what I have isn't even much compared to them.

I wonder if The Ralph could get enough private funding through public donations to get HD cameras setup at the rink...? I know that now I'm leaving, watching on tv is the only way I can watch, so getting HD is a nicer thought now than just going to the Ralph for every home game.
-
Aniston please.
-
Well, if you have a Blu-Ray player or PS3/Xbox360 it does do you good.
-
CHORNEY STICK: Sold BELFOUR JERSEY: Sold If you want to pick stuff up in GF, you have through Saturday to do it.
-
Blu-rays and PS3 are ballin'....HDTV is WAAAY better than SDTV, but still a small notch below what Blu-Rays are at. I'm workin' a 37" 1080i setup, PS3/Blu-Ray, 5.1 Surround setup with powered sub (never goes on in an apt right now, haha)....I hope my girlfriend grounds me to my room. When I get a full-time job now after graduating, I hope to upgrade to a 50+ inch 1080p. But that's a ways down the road yet.
-
Yeah, if you get up past 32" or so you gotta start looking at 1080p. 720p is perfectly fine if smaller than that.

-
I am, honest-to-God, laughing every time you write something in this thread. Please, do not stop.

They should start their own league with how many players they have recruited....the UWCHA, University of Wisconsin Collegiate Hockey Assocation.
