Quick question, how much money does the football program bring in for the other programs after all the football bills are paid? not trolling - serious question
-
Well that didn't take long.. 50% hair cut for UND and FU only and specific language against athletic scholarships. And of course they will take it as the legislature is out to get them unbelievable how tone def the FU leadership is... NOTE: This is not the final bill - just the house version... more to come. The House voted 76-16 last week to pass House Bill 1151, renewing the Higher Education Challenge Fund on the condition that funds are no longer available for athletic scholarships. 50% hair cut - FU/UND - all other schools no change. and the amount designated for FU and the University of North Dakota would be cut to $5 million each, down from twice that. The other nine colleges would again receive $1 million each. http://www.grandforksherald.com/news/education/3689913-house-renews-higher-education-challenge-fund-not-athletic-scholarships

That is a interesting take.. it sounds like more of a problem at FU versus anything going on at UND. I do think that FU appears to be a bit tone deaf politically.. is the couple of hundred thousand added by the fund really worth it in the big picture? And just because the chairman doesn't have a problem with athletic scholarships doesn't mean others in the legislature will approve of it. I think that it would have been a much better move for all schools to stay away from athletic scholarships given the recent Higher Education battles that have taken place in the legislature and recent softening of the oil market.

I really liked Cashman and Shields tonight they looked really good.

Bowling Green sounds like SCSU... can a conference have two Jan Brady's - I guess one in the east and one in the west.

Conference Tournament Results the last four years: 2014 - Big Sky - Runner-up 2013 - Big Sky - Semifinals 2012 - GW - Championship 2011 - GW - Championship

The context of my reply was in regard to the years that UND's iAD had noted for SDSU and NDSU 2012, 2013 and 2014. If you would like to expand the conversation - then yes UND is 3-6 against both SDSU and NDSU with this years results. And in rebuttal to your blowout comment.. you forgot to call out the blowout wins by UND 18 and 19 or the hail mary 3 by SDSU to extend the home court winning streak a couple of years ago. My point being the blowouts have gone both ways and UND and SU have been very comparable programs the previous two or three years. If you want to include transitional records for the entire Summit League comparison please feel free. My point about the Summit League is that the conference has hitched it's wagon to the Dakota schools - the top programs Oakland and ORU (who is now back) have walked away leaving a void at the top - which has been filled by the SU programs - I make this comment not wanting to take anything away from those two schools because I think they are very good. It would be like Montana and Weber St not being in the Big Sky Tournament the last two years - would UND's chances improved to make the Dance. Yes, they would have.. In general, I really dont care about the other Dakota schools too much. I wish people would look more toward Big Sky. I want to beat Montana and Weber St they are the road block to the Dance. I guess that I am the only one that was expecting a rebuilding year.

2011-2012 UND @ SDSU 92-52 SDSU @ UND 89-70 NDSU@UND 59-54 2012-2013 UND @ SDSU 70-71 UND @ NDSU 72-52 2013-2014 NDSU @ UND 95-77 SDSU @ UND 77-70 UND 2-1 versus NDSU UND 1-3 versus SDSU Darell, I think you are missing the fact the UND has been very competitive with the other Dakota schools over the last couple of years. The Summit League in not the same conference without Oakland or ORU. I guess ORU is back this year so that does help rebuild the conference. Plus, the conference tournament is hosted in the SF which is a huge advantage toward the local schools. Plus, injuries that last two years has had a significant impact on UND the previous two seasons. As for this year's team, it is definitely a rebuilding year. Other Dakota schools have had to endure this also. But, I really like the two Fr bigs and the So at the point. They have a very good starting point to build from.. I am going to enjoy watching the team improve over the next couple of years.

Congrats to the Bison - great run.. to the rest of the stuff in this thread not so much.

is Shanks able to play this week.

CIT tries to give more visibility to Mid Major programs. Those tournaments give a lot of programs post season experience I don't mind the CBI or CIT. It would be nice if UND would have hosted last year. Again, the ultimate goal is to make the NCAA.

I am interested in the tickets... I have sent a PM -
I believe that Luke S. is on the SDSU staff. He cleaned up recruiting in Chicago area.. previously he coached at W. Ill I think that he is the TE coach at SDSU.

I agree this is two weeks in a row with strange interviews for J. Glenn. I think he is frustrated with how things are progressing in Vermillion. As far as his comments, I was not sure if he was talking about historical (UNC days) or current (USD). The funny part is that the last time UND/USD played - USD players trashed the locker room at the Alerts after they chocked a 20 point lead in the second half. I don't know of any UND officials who made any negative comments about the behavior by the Pups that day. I thought UND handled it correctly and kept everything off the record. Now, the coach takes a shot at UND out of nowhere... Hey, Jack JD since SDSU has one of the best recruiters from the Muss staff at SDSU was he taking a shot at SDSU also..

Best games at the Ralph: 1) Hosting the west regional - three storied programs - one historical upset and a birth into the frozen four - Michigan vs UND night cap - followed by UND vs HC great environment. 2) WCHA series versus the Gophers.. Wehrs corner - I think he learned that he should not take a run at Trupp - because his line-mates had his back - Malone and Fratts delivered some serious payback. 3) Denver - Gwoz taking a stroll across the ice classic...
-
I do agree with him on why are you taking timeouts.. you have a new QB in the game. The offense has shown no life to this point. You get the ball deep in your own territory. You run out the clock and regroup. If Joe was in the game and the offense was moving the ball then I agree try and get points. Go to half time a regroup. That 3 points was huge in this game.

has to be Bartels

Great game..... the offense looked good with Barts

Yes, lets get win number 3 first... quick question to others. In the Montana game was the first snap a bad snap it looked like it went through QBs hands. The second one was a really bad snap. And it looked like a bobble took place when under center later in the first Q. When you are having this level of trouble with the offense, nobody should be looking ahead and counting wins. This has been problem since game 1 and it is game 5 and it is still costing the team games.

I see the potential but man at times I am not sure what is worse pocket presence, accuracy, or decision making.
