  1. UMD is not a big stick.. St. Thomas would be a big stick.
  2. I was simply stating that forgiveness on the exit fee has been done before. If a program/school has reasons - drop in enrollment, program in the red - may have to drop the program. Then the conference "could" see what they can do to help. In this case swapping Miami for a St. Thomas could help both conferences and schools. Or bringing in ASU. I am applying the Goodwill portion to this based on what is best for the growth of College Hockey with limited impact on the conference overall. If that isn't present and there isn't a complying reason to help out. Then apply the exit fee if they want to leave. And it shouldn't be expected in the future. Again, look to the Big Sky, SUU left the Big Sky for the WAC a few years after UND left the Big Sky. The exit fee was applied.
  3. Different sport with a bit of a back story, but Big Sky waived the exit fee for UND. In fact, they continued to help with scheduling for two/three years in football as UND moved to the Summit League. So, there can be a goodwill angle to things. If Miami wants out and they conduct business in a forthright manner I see no problem with it. The NCHC has plenty of options to backfill if needed. It could be a win/win situation and could be a model for hockey going forward. We all want college hockey to grow with growth comes conference movement why make it painful. Again, if a school doesn't notify the conference and goes about it the wrong way. The exit fee applies and a boot to the ass on the way out is fine with me.
  4. Absolutely agree, my guess is that Tyree handled his department in a very professional manner also.
  5. I feel like football has received significant support since moving to D1 you have: - CoA - Phase I - Phase II (I assume that this started this spring?) - New Athletic Village That is significant investments for the football program. Again, SDSU and USD both have mortgage payments for the facilities they have in place. Once the facilities are built out for UND and the all the other updates on campus. UND will be on equal footing and in some cases they will have advantages.
  6. After we played NAU, I thought that win would turn out to be a sneaky quality win that would helped UND in the playoff brackets. But, NAU kind of disappointed after that game.
  7. Exactly, if you don't know who roy saigo is then you don't understand. SCSU made their bed, they got to go.
  8. Kick SCSU out!!!
  9. It might be coincidence, but schools might be finding out that media rights are more valuable when grouped together. When StT is ready to go full scholarship football might be next. Summit Leagues teams are carrying both conferences why have three conferences. Show the full strength of the Summit League schools. NOTE: I am all for a conference name change I don't get the name. I have seen several people ask why the Big Sky has a better media deal. Well this could be the reason why - Summit League schools are too fragmented in conference affiliations. No consistency in branding.
  10. Yeah, R13 had some problems. I am sure that they have the R15's which has several improvements, but it is still expensive. It's good to see Intel starting to recover but the chip still runs hot. It's been a while since I was on the line with motherboards rolling out. Fun stuff and blast from the past.
  11. I am sure those machines are custom spec. Nothing better than a day at mirco center.
  12. Thanks for everything you have done and I do hope that you keep posting. We need to keep people around with a strong historical knowledge to keep things balanced.
  13. I am really excited about the offense this year because I think the O-line is going to be good.
  14. Well, I am sure Oxbow6 thinks it's a new golf ball to get an extra 7.8 yards on his drives. And MafiaMan will think it's a new jersey manufacturer. Of course me teasing MafiaMan will lead to grammar policing for the next 6 months on all my posts. But, yes your point is taken PFF can get nerdy at times. And peace to Ox and MM - remember Sicatoka started it.
  15. This is a good read from PFF. It outlines the need for explosive plays to be successful. PFF Data Study: Explosive plays and re-thinking offensive success | NFL News, Rankings and Statistics | PFF
  16. I was going to put that... but until I see more depth at CB. I will go with Luke.
  17. I am wondering if the addition of Wesley Eliodor really opens up were Red Wison lines ups this season. I am really excited to see his impact on defenses and the safeties when he is on the field. Plus, Wesley and Luke back on kickoffs. Which side do you kick the ball toward?
  18. They three campuses: St. Paul, Minneapolis and Rome. MINNEAPOLIS - Urban Campus. This campus is in the epicenter of downtown Minneapolis and it is home to our Opus College of Business, School of Law, School of Education and the Dougherty Family College.
  19. St. Thomas brings many things to the table that SCSU or even UMD do not. One primary example is that Midco Sports channel is now on Xfinity in the Twin Cities. The Summit League tried for years to break through. The first year St. Thomas joins they break through in the TC metro. What other opportunities are available to the Summit Leage and NCHC with St. Thomas in the fold? From a Summit League standpoint, I noticed that St. Johns has declining enrollment and cut several programs. My question now is given this new information. Would St. Johns be willing to look at moving up with St. Thomas now that they have see a path. I would love to see both St. Thomas and St. Johns in the TSL.
  20. Or add St. Thomas and dump the Clowns. Addition by subtraction.
  21. I was simply providing a range for potential attendance based historical numbers. 50,000 to 75,000. FYI - was snacking on a small handful of walnuts when I read your post. So, life must be good. "Based on those numbers with the right teams playing in a 10 team format - Men's 45,000 and Women's 30,000 seems possible and the total would be 75,000. The bottom seems to be around 50,000. This year was 57,000."
  22. Right now, SDSU drives attendance for TSL Tournament Attendance 1) Men's attendance ranges from 22,500 to 40,000. 2) If SDSU is in the championship game attendance ranges from 36,000 to 40,000. 3) If SDSU is not in championship game attendance ranges from 22,500 to 24,000 for 8 team. And 31,500 this year for 10 team. Ladies is stable because USD and SDSU have owned the conference. Ladies range from 24,500 to 29,000 for 8 teams and 26,000 for 10 team. 2017 is the only year that neither USD/SDSU reached the finals. Attendance dropped to 21,000. Based on those numbers with the right teams playing in a 10 team format - Men's 45,000 and Women's 30,000 seems possible and the total would be 75,000. The bottom seems to be around 50,000. This year was 57,000.
  23. Does the development of St. Thomas program help replace the Gopher X Factor in St. Paul in the future?
  24. Not all is lost thou. We still have tennis. Plus, all the kids got participation trophies. So, it is all good.

    Jerseys

Anyone interested in parting with a NODAK jersey from Las Vagas this year. My nephew is graduating from ASU (journalism major - covered the game down in Las Vagas - he tried to pick one up - but they were gone already) and I thought that I would pick one up for him as a graduation gift.
