    Potato Bowl 2022

I think much of our success has been because of the play calling. Most of our plays are long handoffs (lateral passes) or quick timing throws. If we had better line play we would have two or three more explosive plays. NOTE: Not complaining. UND has been up against a couple of good defense lines. But, the next step is more time for plays to develop downfield.
  2. run contain has been a bit of a problem.. I can think of 2 or 3 long TD runs already.
  3. Well, before I figure out which way to cheer, are you the 1) fast and elusive type or a 2) power back with a good stiff arm? Plus, how much fight do you have in you? Are you going to just surrender and put on a good show.
  4. I can appreciate that, but it does not change the facts that took place leading up to and during the flood - the role that NWS forecasting played in flood prevention efforts. I do believe that the NWS has gotten a free pass - unfortunately. As point of view, the houses that I was sand bagging wall at was never breached, but the house was flooded because of failures in other places. One of many reminders during my lifetime about how government doesn't always work - but they sure do love to tell you how they do.
  5. Well, the National Weather Service and there thawed modelling didn't have anything to do with the problem at all... And they are responsible for the National Weather Service's work. It was difficult for the cities to prepare for such an enormous flood. The National Weather Service (NWS) had forecast that the river would crest at 49 feet (14.9 m),[4] which was its highest level during the 1979 flood.[5] The cities had built dikes to this level, but the river continued to rise past it. Taken by surprise, the NWS did not upgrade its forecast until April 16, the day the river reached 49 feet.
  6. Defense needs to make a play.
  7. 89 and 14 need to know that game is on the line ..... stick it up field vs going out along the sideline.

  16. This was an interesting listen. It has a discussion about media rights and how they plan to implement some of the changes. Plus time talking about phase II (weight room, locker room and sports medicine). Other Projects: - Ralph weight room update - Betty new basketball/volleyball - video/meeting room. Memorial Village - as of right now it is planned to be completed by Summer of 2024. Bill Chaves Podcast - Ep. 114 - University of North Dakota Athletics (fightinghawks.com)

  21. To call myself out - I pulled the 500K out of thin air. And UND's football budget is far from destitute. Here are the numbers from Dept of Education. School Football Budget NDSU $5,104,034 UND $4,675,386 MSU $4,519,423 Ill St $4,308,293 YSU $3,792,946 USD $3,665,448 SDSU $3,406,193 Ind St $3,391,722 SIU $3,379,647 UNI $3,286,127 Drake $2,688,848 Valpo $889,262 WIU $708,017

  23. I really don't understand the angst here at all. The people around the football program have held the program more than anything else: 1) UND President/AD - Kupchella/Thomas - misread the future of College and Athletics correctly. 2) Lennon leaving at the start of the transition with no AD. As an example - Stig stuck it out at SDSU plus they found some deep pockets in Stanford. 3) Missing hiring DeBoer. Those 3 decision have had far greater impact on the football program than some $500K annual payment. Football has what it needs: 1) Great School 2) Nice facilities (Alerus and Indoor Practice Facility) 3) Full Scholarship funding. 4) They are 1 of maybe 5 or 10 schools that grant CoA at the FCS level. 5) Great media coverage - Midco, Miller, UND Football 360 and Teeder during fall ball. Could they use more sure. But, the cupboards are not bare. It's time to get things done on the field.
  24. Dam.... that badger is not happy. Good Luck!
  25. Well, I know that they advertised Midco services several years ago in the western suburbs. But, this is the first time that I have heard about the addition of the channel. I assume that it's going to be included in the add-on sport package. So, that is the value-added portion for them.
