Well he had him in a headlock. Regardless he is a disgrace to the game. I truly believe he only wants to physically hurt people.

What's even more concerning is that later in that period Punko tried to flat out hurt Oshie just because of the fact that Oshie out-worked him and stole the puck from him. Ramming him head-first into the boards and then slamming him down simply because he got outworked? The kid has a serious, serious problem. I predict that he will eventually seroiusly hurt someone someday. Prpch is just annoying. Pauko is a viscious player and has not place on the ice. His track record speaks for itself. The kid is a loser period.

It is a wonder to me why Anderson thinks that no matter what, in order for him to do his job he must make sure there is split. He is pa-thet-ic! I rarely blame officiating but that was horrible. He took two points from the Sioux. Plain and simple.

Almost forgot. My Freshman year was the last year of wet rush. Best time I ever had. One unbelievable moment I had was at Shenanigans (sp?) I saw The Replacements and The Violent Femmes in one night! Man that was great!

Great thread! Grand Forks is truly the only town in the nation, other than Lincoln, Nebraska for the Huskers, where the town totally embraces the Sioux....especially hockey.

My girls will be there. They have a hockey tournament in GF and if they where there team jerseys they get in for free. I bet they get 1,000 people for the Friday night game.

You are correct. It has little to do with the individual. But when the institution itself has issues with UND, like SCSU, then that my friend is a problem. Granted, I have not heard or seen Harvard issuing any statements on our logo and nickname fight but I bet we will before we play them. On a side note didn't St. Lawrence have a problem with us playing them out there a couple of years ago because of our logo and nickname?

Yea that's great. He'll have a good education and be a flaming liberal. I'm surprised the institution is letting Harvard play the Sioux. What no articles yet from the Harvard student newspaper on how offensive our name and logo is?

We have also forgotten that up to this point the Sioux have had the toughest schedule in the nation and it only gets better this weekend against the Badgers. 5-2-1 is pretty good with a freshman laden team.

Is it just me or do the Sioux players all seem to be clean cut, no beards, big mops for hair like some of the other teams in the WCHA. I think that all trickles down from the coaching staff to the players. Great, hard-working clean-cut kids who by the way can play the game of hockey extremely well. Proud to be a Sioux fan always!

I don't know. Miami of Ohio was a damn tough team and Michigan State obviously as well.....and Northeastern.....the first four games....that's not too bad of competiotion.

I was at the game Friday night. Toews is without a doubt the most talented player I have seen in a Sioux uniform in the last 10 years. He is clearly head and shoulders above everybody else. He looks just effortless out there. There is only one other player that has looked that good to me and that is Sidney Crosby. Everytime Toews touches the puck there is a chance something big will happen. He can either go in the corner and grind it out or he can out-skill or out-finesse the opposing player(s). I will be very surprised he stays more than 1 year. If any of you get a chance when the Sioux are at home, please go see him. He is something else.

What blows me away is the that they do an overall evaluation on each team but the Sioux........like they're not even in the league!

I just love how reporting these days is soooo one sided.......on any issue where sides are taken. I have no problem with someone writing about the whole logo issue but TELL BOTH SIDES OF THE STORY. This is happening on every single article written on this. My favorite part of this is the quote of "only a little over 400 of the students are Native Americans" and the part about the young lady saying that the Native American people "have brought programs to the university" If I'm not mistaken, doesn't the university create the programs? PCM, you are correct. This is a classic case of slander.
