There have been a lot of kids from North Dakota in the past that were good enough to play I-AA football and even DI football. They just decided to play DII football for NDSU or UND. There is nothing wrong with playing DII instead of DI. It's just an individuals preference that could be partially due to course of study, family or whatever.
  2. IMO, SCSU is only going to make a DI move IF UND leaves the NCC.
  3. All I see is speculation, something you are very familiar with Where did anyone say NDSU had an invitation?
  4. Denny Green Flashback to the 1998 NFC Championship game. Take a knee and lose in OT.
  5. If you believe this, you probably believe hockey is the favorite sport in ND. The non-scholarship I-AA's have a tough time competing with DIII teams.
  6. I doubt we will see any of you on Bisonville either
  7. Curse of Pat Behrns
  8. Congrats to Lennon, always great to see a ND native do well.
  9. I am putting my money on bisonguy
  10. Tony's pretty good about stopping rumors!
  11. So, anyone could come on the messageboard, state a rumor, have a couple other people back it up, and leave it to the reader to believer? If it's true about Amy, then I'll back off, until then I still have reasonable doubt.
  12. So how does everyone know Amy called and does anyone know exactly what was said?
  13. I guess blinders work both ways. Yes, I would like to hear both sides of the story, not just what I want to hear.
  14. So, what exactly did she say, the other 20 posts are all word-of-mouth. I have seen nothing that is a quote. No proof that it was even Amy Ruley. The renegade Gophers did keep recruiting Rick Richert after he verbally committed to Arizona.
  15. So what exactly was said that reflects poorly on the charactor of Amy Ruley?
  16. Some people are good looking, the rest have hair!
  17. The top I-AA teams could beat the top DII teams 9 out of 10 usually. There are exceptions to the rule. I don't know the exact number of schools, about 120. The non-scholarship teams like Valpo (Ivy's not included) would have a tough time winning against the top DII teams. The biggest difference is overall team speed and depth. The top DII teams have several guys with speed and I-AA talent, but there is a drop-off most of the time, with the second string players. Playing a full season in I-AA, you need the depth to compete every week. That's just my observation via the Bison games.
  18. The new conference members NDSU, UC Davis, Cal Poly and UNC were not exactly patsie's in DII. Most I-AA schools came from DII. Add 27 scholarships to UND and how do you think they would compete in I-AA. Probably at a high level. Several NCC teams are closer to I-AA quality than most of the current DII.
  19. Maybe UND is better than you think it is?
  20. I believe if you look back at the record, the original offer was home and home for 4 years. UND would have had a couple good gates too.
  21. How many people from Winnipeg travel to Fargo or elsewhere without stopping in Grand Forks? Red Wing is over an hour from the Twin Cities. Duluth is also a ways from the cities.
  22. There are some condo's right now, but there are two large complexes being build as we type. The old Prison site, Cole Youngers old home, at the end of Main, and a block on old mainstreet are the current projects. Stillwater also has busloads of people dropped off during the week as part of a tour. Just need to advertise "Historic" downtown Grand Forks and put some shops in some old buildings, to go along with the bars.
  23. Unique shopping, along with a places for entertainment would draw people downtown. Examples: The Forks in Winnipeg, Downtown Stillwater MN, and Red Wing MN. By unique shopping, I mean a mix of outlet type stores, antiques, specialty foods, books, toys, novelties, trendy clothing. A couple trendy places to eat, fine and casual dining. The Condo's will help by having a population base downtown. Bars with live music will attract people at night. Each of these places has an annual celebration based in downtown. These cities downtowns are full every weekend during the summer.
