  1. Being UND is going to play FCS football next year, the following site is a good place to find out about other FCS teams, and meet many of the fans. I'm sure it's been posted here before, but just a reminder for those that know about AGS. Also AGS has a weekly top 25 poll, and one of the requirements is the number of post on the messageboard prior to the start of voting. You are all welcome to come and visit when you have some free time from SiouxSports.com. There also is a Great West Conference board on the site. AnyGivenSaturday
  2. Looking for something to do this week, there is a Party in the Park in Neche. Fun & Games, Charity Auction, Golf Tourney. Party is Thursday night 5:30 to 8:30, Golf is Friday. Speaker is Erv Inniger. There is a 1990's basketball from Red Lake HS, signed by one of the great UND basketball teams, Scott Guldseth, David Robertson, etc and a UND football helmet signed by Dale Lennon in the silent auction. Still some golf openings, see the link for contact info. Neche Party in the Park Link
  3. I always wondered why my Grandfather called UND the Flickertails. Guess he never got over the name change.

    NFL Draft

Cris Carter changed his spots from Philly to the Vikings. Carter was a lot farther down the ladder than Moss. If Moss wants to change he can, otherwise...........
  5. Alcohol is responsible for as many, if not more deaths as firearms. Link In 2004, 21 percent of the children age 14 and younger who were killed in motor vehicle crashes were killed in alcohol-related crashes An estimated 248,000 people were injured in crashes where police reported that alcohol was present
  6. I expect UND to win that game rather handily. They won't be able to stop the midwest boys from moving up and down the field.
  7. Click on my signature for one possibility
  8. I have a 1972 Program from the Camelia Bowl, I think it's UND vs Cal Poly. Did the Sioux win that game? I remember watching it on TV when I was very very young.
  9. St John's would have some competition then in the DIII MIAC. The DII MIAA might be a better fit with Pitt St, Directional Missouri teams etc.
  10. Reminds me of a little league game we had with a Winnipeg team one time. They all seemed 6' tall and had 5 O'Clock shadows.
  11. How did they do? I was in Bismarck at the bouncey ball tourney
  12. It was originally brought to the NCC table in 2002? May have been autobid eligible by the 2015 range.
  13. Good luck DaveK, having a child play goalie is at times nerve racking.
  14. Guess I was talking as a baseball fan vs hockey fan, not NDSU/UND. Sat thru 6 hockey games last weekend, looking forward to the baseball season now. Good to see another UNO fan.
  15. I've been to 8 college baseball World Series. The college World Series takes up two weeks on ESPN. I'll take the CWS over the many college hockey tourney's and Stanley Cup finals I've been to.
  16. There is no I-AA or I-A in football anymore either, now it's FBS or FCS football, all Division I. FBS - Football Bowl Subdivision FCS - Football Championship Subdivision All other sports are Division I.
  17. I've had kids in youth hockey, you have the fever bad. This has nothing to do with NDSU not having hockey. Fargo may be at the same level as Grand Forks in youth hockey, but Fargo has a larger population.
  18. After attending my 6th game in 2 days, thought I would leave a little early last night. Grand Rapids up 3-0 with 4 minutes to go. Got to the car, turned on the radio and listened to OT. Rule 1, never leave early.
  19. Fargo also hosted the world fastpitch softball championship, maybe Fargo is a softball town. Start polling the kids of Fargo DaveK, you would loose. Unless of course you are polling kids 8-12 that already play hockey. My cousin has 3 kids that play soccer. Take a step back from the hockey culture and take an objective look at reality. Hockey is popular in Fargo, but Fargo is not a hockey town.
  20. Moorhead is a hockey town, but not Fargo. I will put money on it that if you ask all the 8-12 year-olds in Fargo, what sport they would like to play, they won't say hockey. Soccer would beat Hockey IMO.
  21. College basketball was big back in the 1960's and before. When did ESPN start? How many high school hockey teams were there in the 1960's? As an example the Minnesota High School basketball tourney started around the 1910's, High School hockey tourney started in 1945. Every school in St Paul used to have a hockey team, now there are not many left. It has a lot to do with who played basketball, or was a basketball fan in high school. Usually leads to them being a fan of college basketball or hockey. A majority of the country doesn't have access to ice skating facilities, and a group of them won't have the money to participate. The only hockey most people ever see is on TV. There is a basketball court in practically every neighborhood in America.
  22. Some of us have relatives, friends, kids of friends and hometown athletes attending UND and yes participating in UND sports. I always wish them well when playing for UND. Logistics aren't there to start a new rivalry, conference and schedule-wise.
  23. Thanks It's a big day for the Bison and Jacks! Sioux and Coyotes have a great future ahead too in the Great West and beyond. UCD and Poly are great schools to play.
  24. Any chance of Setness moving up on the chart?
