  1. After watching one hell of a game by Butler yesterday, wouldn't it be great if the North Dakota schools ever got into the Horizon League. But, then I thought......maybe it is better to be in the Summit League because a school would have to put together one hell of a BB program to even compete. The same goes for the MVC for sports other than football.
  2. The MWC has NO interest in Montana.....none what so ever.
  3. Not really.....this situation is what it is. Chapman did what no other President has done in moving the school forward, but no one can deny the mess that is coming out now. I think most the Bison faithful understand this. I mean to spend over $400,000 remodling your office and try and hide it from the people of ND?? I don't care what team you cheer for, it is wrong. Everyone knows that (maybe except for Mpls.). Like I said on Bisonville.....if this did not violate the law, it surely violates the intent of the law. And....damn.....Hanson just can't get a decent grip on the PR job....argh..... Also....sorry folks......undergrad and grad both from the only fully DI school in North Dakota......NDSU.....
  4. Chapman, it appears, had significantly abused his position regarding following policy and spending money. In the end, it seems he was ruling by intimidation and threats. As to this not being a state issue....it sure as hell is.....who owns NDSU, other than the State of North Dakota. Some of the stuff I read from Mpls Bison is so stupid and off base it just leaves one scratching his head. Hanson has had some damn difficult stuff to deal with. But, it seems like he manages to stick his foot in his mouth with the media on frequent occasions. He surely is not my choice for President, but, I sure have to acknowlege that he is in a difficult position dealing with tough issues. I would also bet that when the audit is complete we find more damning behavior uncovered on the part of Chapman. I like Joe. He was a great leader, but in the end, his behavior failed NDSU. By the way.....You guys should just figure out that life is more pleasant with out Mpls. shooting his mouth off....I can't believe you haven't banned him yet. Listening to the crazies is entertaining for a while......but then just gets nauseating....
  5. Wyoming has about $14 billion in our permanent mineral trust fund. Wyoming also is granting scholies to most instate students that choose to attend Wyoming higher ed institutions. It is called the Hathaway Scholarship. Here is a link on it..... Hathaway Scholarship Also, if you qualify for the highest level of Hathaway, the U of WYO kicks in a minimum of another $2000 per year so it really is a decent amount of cash. My daughter is able to get though undergrad school with out borrowing a dime in student loans. All this has been funded with the budget surplus we have had because of the high energy prices. North Dakota ought to look at doing something like this for the kids.
  6. We all need to quit playing these damn DAC teams......Geez....it isn't doing anyone any good.
  7. Honest to god? Mayville State?? The Comets?? Sorry.....just had to stop by and give you guys some sh*t about that one......Whoa......that is a tough tough loss.
  8. I read this online in the Forum this morning......vey strange indeed. I hope they are fine.
  9. The bottom line.......right now there is for sure no reason in the world NDSU would want to play UND....If we played our typical quality of game this year and UND had a game like they had against Poly.....we would get our ass handed to us.
  10. That was a hell of a win against a tough Cal Poly team. Congrats on a very solid GWFC win. And shame on the fans that stayed away from a tremendous conference game like that one.
  11. Good god......why the hell would anyone at either of our schools be acting cocky right now........
  12. No kidding......screw The Nickel......they can play for a damn toilet seat.
  13. Thanks......
  14. Is there a free webcast of this one?
  15. It ought to be sold out......a top GWC game?? Decent weather.......tailgate before........everyone in North Dakota ought to be at a game this weekend. Both NDSU and UND ought to sell out.
  16. I was shocked to see Montana sign a home and home with us. Perhaps they are changing thier philosophy on never traveling for OOC FCS games. If so, that is good nes for fans in our region.
  17. The only other thing I have to add is........ Thank god for Brett Favre! That old man is still one hell of a STUD!
  18. Well......it really would depend on how you define "well". In the first half he seemed to struggle but then in the second half he seemed to get it together. That being said.....I am not sure Sam Houston was a decent defense. So, if Mertens was starting to put it together against a lousy defense, I am less impressed that if it had been a good D unit out there. I guess for me, the jury is still out on whether or not Mertens has it. Now the D totally stunk the place up....and that opinion seems to be fairly universal among the fans. Based on what I saw in the Sam Houston game combined with the loss to a weak ISU......The beer bong at tailgating may be the high point of the season for me.......
  19. Yep......when you give up 640 yards you don't deserve to win. Absolutely terrible defense. I guess I was way off base when I was worried about the QB.
  20. Here is the linky: http://www.bisonville.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17410 I think most Bison fans were not at all aware of Mussman's history at ISU. In light of his history at ISU I would certaintly expect him to cheer for his old team. If he had no previous connection to ISU, it would have not been an appropriate remark.....and I suspect most the hostility was because the Bison fans did not know Mussman's history. The thread is kind of an example of how threads on either of these boards can go in a goofy direction if some of the facts are missing. Most the Bison fans are very good folks that are very passionate about thier football. And.....are a bit (probably the understatement of the year) after last season. I am not sure last night helped the grouchiness either. Anyway.....it is kind of an entertaining read. If you go read it just remember......we bark a lot, but seldom bite. And....don't start a smack fest or I will have to lock the thread. .....And just remember we all have our fans that are loudmouths.
  21. I agree completely....I would never say anything like that....except for some good natured $#!t giving.....
  22. I hear what you are saying.....in games like this or our ISU game injuries are also a big risk. That being said......it is a lot of cash and most the fans get pretty pumped for these "playing up" games. I kind of see it as a couple different scenarios..... First-- Would you have sex with the fat girl for $350,000? Hell yes, give me the cash.....and let's get it over with. or it could be scenario #2.... Second-- Would you have sex with Brian Urlacher's hot girlfriend on a dare for $350,000........knowing Urlacher would beat you to with in an inch of your life when he catches you. Hell yes.......give me the cash......I will wear body armor.
  23. Sorry......I had to get one more post in. Otherwise my post total was sitting at 666 ........ call me superstitious.....
  24. They will beat the hell out of the Sioux.....but so what.....you are there. Enjoy it and enjoy some of the competition most of us never though we would see playing a team from either school. And......when you get those upsets.....it is a lot of fun!
  25. Eventhough I love footbll outdoors.....in North Dakota it is the kiss of death for late season attendance. No way would have the Bison reached he attendance figures these last two years playing outside. The climate is just too harsh to attract those casul fans. I hate to say it, but both schools will need to play inside to get decent crowds all season long.
