  1. What a hell of an exciting prelude to the football season......Favre.....and now this.......geez.....the actual season is gonna be dull!
  2. It sounds like Montana is being asked by the WAC.....or atleast ESPN is claiming so. Would Montana make that move with out MSU? Folks....we got a nailbiter here......stay tuned!
  3. .....And I also have to admit that I look at most of this from a "football bias" , it is tough not to being a Bison fan.....
  4. Here is an example of what the national sports media is thinking about the WAC......not a conference I would want NDSU associated with....... My link
  5. I really doubt the WAC is thinking of the ND schools, but let's just say they did. Would the ND schools accept? It would be in UND's interest to do so since you have no viable conference right now......I don't think it is in NDSU's interest to make the move and I think NDSU may not jump at it.
  6. I doubt that any of our schools are on the FBS radar scope. Neither school is ready or ought to take such a jump. I would much rather play for a National Title than a meaningless bowl game on some obscure cable channel as the culmination of a season. Neither school has done much in D1 (major sports folks.....hockey doesn't count). I think that a reputation in both FB and BB is needed before a move up should be considered (and then there is still the meaningless bowl game issue to deal with).
  7. Boy, this is one that can cause some good infighting among both Bison and Sioux fans!
  8. I got a hoot out of this line in Tom Powers column in the St. Paul Pioneer Press this morning.... His arrival also gives Vikings fans a reason to rejoice and to dream. Favre supplied plenty of entertainment in 2009. And his arrival will cause a great wailing and gnashing of teeth in Wisconsin, where the majority of Packers fans again will claim that they no longer care one whit about Brett Favre yet will wake up with tear-soaked pillows almost every morning. -- Tom Powers The whole article is here.... My link
  9. My guess is this guy is a Packer fan.......
  10. Anyone know what the deal is wit FCS and Directv. I have only seen some FCS games on (I think it was channel 617) but not actually the FCS channel. Do any of you Directv customers know?
  11. All is well..........#4 is back in Minnesota!!!!
  12. I see Percy Harvin is back at camp.....thank heavens. And....I am worried about this Sidney Rice injury. We need Rice.
  13. I saw that, kinda give a guy some hope. T-Jack just plain needs to go away........
  14. This is a photo of a church sign in Stillwater, MN. As a Lutheran......I am glad to see the church getting involved in this important situation!!!!!!!!!
  15. That is just flat goofy.
  16. As a transitional team, it is far to early to be giving Faison hell about the 2011 schedule. I suspect it will not come together completely until next summer.
  17. Geez.......multiple pages complaining about mpls........the off season is toxic indeed.
  18. Good god, are you just plain ass stupid? Chapman was so far out of bounds with this that he probably could be charged in criminal court. Former employees could file hostile work environment lawsuits. You truely are the stupidest poster on any message board I have ever read. Give up trying to defend that which is not defensible. The entire higher ed. system in North Dakota will benefit from a little more daylight and honesty. It is after all owned by the people of North Dakota.
  19. That is an interesting thought. I wonder if there is any MVFC rule prohibitng us from playing in a game during the playoffs? I have no clue, but the thought is indeed interesting. It would b a way to extend the season if there are no playoffs and another excuse to tailgate...... Personally I am not in favor of any regularly scheduled meeting between the two schools due to limited OOC options for us, but this scenario really has no impact on that.
  20. My only issues with Chapman are the handling of some of the finances. Take that away and I am happy with his moving NDSU forward.
  21. I suspect the audit will have some pretty rough news for NDSU. In the end it will probably, for better or for worse, have repercussions for all ND schools. There will be steps taken to make sure that no President can stray out of bounds like Joe did with some of his spending. The net result will probably be good for all of us in the end. There is nothing wrong with accountability and I think we have seen how stuff can get stray and get out of bounds when accountability is lacking. There is no question in my mind that there was less than stellar behavior in the way Chapman handled some of the money issues at NDSU. Like I said in a previous thread, Joe seemed to be a real mix of positive and negative qualities. That being said, He surely did move NDSU forward at an incredible speed.
  22. WDAY will want something available sports wise. I would not be at all surprised if they pick up UND. That would be a pretty logical move. As for Hallstrom, I bet he just left for more money and less hours. I don't think most of those media jobs are all that great compensation wise, and the hours are surely tough. I would still see Kolpack doing a lot of coverage as NDSU is the hometown team. But, if there is a move to WDAY for the Sioux, it probably won't hurt the covereage they get in the Forum and it may enhance it. Who knows......Moorhead State may be the biggest looser in this deal as they have little going on over there worth covering...
  23. I would doubt that NDSU gave a damn about who was broadcasting the UND games. They wanted to get the best deal for thier own broadcasts. Remember, NDSU completely does all the bradcast stuff in house and was probably looking for the best deal financially and balancing that with coverage. I am sure KFGO wanted to get the home team on the air. In the end, NDSU is going to have more appeal in Fargo, just like UND is going to have more appeal in GFKS. To think that NDSU told KFGO to dump the Sioux is some of the most foolish paranoia I have seen on this board. I suppose the black helicopters are coming next.
  24. Wow......I did not realize that only put him as the 3rd highest in the conference. That is significant cash.
  25. My only caveat on that is can the schools in ND actually sustain a quality program that could compete in those leagues and what would it cost to do so. I saw somewhere that the UNI Head Coach just got a contract extension where the salary alone is starting at $450,000 next year. I don't know about you guys, but we are a long, long way from that mark. I don't know the answer, but, I wonder if it could really hurt athletics if we were in a league where we were consitantly in the bottom half. And, again, can we compete. I sit here in WYO and watch how tough life is for UW in the Mountain West. I would hate to see NDSU wind up in the same position.
