  1. Hmmm, didn't really know where to put this, so I guess I'll just stick it here. Found this photo while searching through flickr . . . it's from the Icebreaker.
  2. tOSU: 3 - Notre Dame: 1 End of the 2nd 3 unanswered goals for the Buckeyes.
  3. Yale won tonight and moved up a few spots. Cornell is beating Princeton, about to start the 3rd Sioux still at 13 in the PWR.
  4. Indeed, Yale who is another team ahead of the Sioux also won tonight.
  5. East scores: BU wins over UML BC wins over UMass Northeastern wins over Merrihack Vermont wins over PC UNH is ahead of Maine in the 3rd Princeton won in OT over Colgate Cornell wins in OT vs. Quinnipiac
  6. Now Parise with a goal. # 30 on the PP.
  7. Zajac tips in a Langenbrunner shot . . . Goal #16 on the year.
  8. That is the most puzzling OOC decision . . . I saw it on Goon's blog and it just blew my mind. Merrihack is not a D-1 hockey team. After about a period they give up and their 25 year old canadian goons just try to injure people. They took five or so CFB penalties in one game and sent two players to the hospital. I hope no Sioux players get injured and I'm sorry Jones won't be there to have a rage blackout and beat the crap out of someone when the 'hack resorts to their shenanigans. /rant.
  9. I actually wasn't trying to insinuate anything about the Sioux . . . Vermont just bores the crap out of me. It's like watching this year's version of the NYR, but Vermont has a better goalie. But it is true that some teams have a horrible time with trapping teams . . . BU is one one of them . . . I wouldn't bet on them holding onto the top seed for the tourney, Notre Dame and Cornell have much easier roads down the stretch than any of the HE teams in the top 10.
  10. Depends on how well the Sioux play against trapping teams . . . Vermont plays the trap and lulls you to f'in sleep.
  11. BC loses 6 - 1. With that loss they drop to 16 in the PWR. I do believe the Sioux have moved into the field of 16.
  12. If you want BU to win the Beanpot . . . you may want to send some flu medicine down to Agganis. They played with basically 15 skaters tonight and it wasn't pretty. Lots of vomit last weekend and today . . . again not pretty. I can't stand vomit.
  13. Big winner in the statistical rankings tonight was Yale, they beat Cornell and if the season ended tonight they would be in the field of 16. UND is still the third team out of the field and SCSU's RPI is creeping up on them. Sioux have to win tomorrow.
  14. The Sioux really need to come back in this game. Lots of teams above them in the PWR shat the bed tonight and you need to take advantage of that with how volatile those rankings are. True, winning is what really matters . . . but winning while those above play like **** is even better. And as I'm typing . . . Travis Zajac with a gorgeous pass to beat the Pens in OT. I think he has points in like 7 straight games.
  15. OOC games of interest to the pairwise (teams ahead of UND): BU wins . . . Coach Parker's 800th career win (all at BU) Notre Dame losing to Michigan 2 - 0 Cornell losing 7 - 1 to SLU Northeastern losing 5 - 1 to UMass Vermont lost to UNH Princeton losing to Yale BC tied with Providence Teams above UND are losing to teams that aren't TUC's tonight. Well, some of them are TUC's, but they're still bad losses statistically.
  16. CFB was on Hansen. I don't know who he hit.
  17. When I went to check the score I thought of you Goon. I know how much you love Cornell.
  18. For those worried about pairwise implications: Cornell and their unbeatable goalie Scrivens are down 4 - 0 to SLU . . . Scrivens got pulled and Cornell is just falling apart. Northeastern is losing their Beanpot trap game to UMass. Go Sioux!
  19. So, I think Parise is gonna have to try to change his signature move from the bar down backhander to the "bank it off the goalie from behind the goal line." He almost had three goals from behind the net tonight. Maybe he'll try it in the shootout. Travis played a tremendous game tonight. His shot has really improved, both in weight and velocity. He's even toe dragging and pump faking it, totally different player from last year.
  20. So far, Zajac with an assist. Parise with a PP goal, number 29. Sorry Goon.
  21. BC let Gerbe take the SAT's with no time limit, that's not an option for Morin. He doesn't seem the least academically inclined; I know he wouldn't make it through a semester at BU especially with the massive grade deflation or probably any tier I institution for that matter, but at least maybe he'd be talented enough to Bourque himself straight to the NHL if he loses eligibility. I really don't see how he goes the NCAA route, unless his parents are of the same mold as the Wilsons and Parises and Gilroys, but from that article it doesn't sound like it.
  22. As of now, autobids belong to: RIT, Notre Dame, Cornell, Northeastern, Denver, Bemidji. Only RIT and Bemidji don't appear in the pairwise. So the at large bids go to: BU, Minnesota, Vermont, Michigan, Princeton, Miami, tOSU, BC, UNH, tUMD. Last team in is Duluth who is tied for 14th in the PW with UND, but they have a higher RPI so Sioux are last team out. Keep winning, gotta flip that comparison. Ideally you want to be above the 10 spot in the pairwise. 12 - 14 is definitely the bubble.
  23. I know, that's why I said he helped, not that he actually scored it. I don't think Elias even knew where the puck was; he never looks down at his feet, but he sees the red light go on and assumes Gionta scored. Here's the link to Parise's head first dive into the boards assist
