  1. NU has taken some gold medal dives to tie the game up on the PP with under 7 to play in the second. I believe NU losing is what the Sioux want, but the refs are trying really hard to give them the W.
  2. If anyone would like a chance to win some Parise signed memorabilia or to meet him the Devils are holding a contest. It's pretty easy, you just make bets on the outcome of Devils games and earn chances to win a prize. http://devilspickandwin.com/
  3. Confirmation on Parise: a "touch" of the stomach flu.
  4. Parise was just injured during the game vs. TB . . . he hasn't returned yet. I have no idea what happened, maybe he's just ill and not hurt.
  5. Hard to truly take seriously until they send 3 of your players to the hospital in the span of 20 minutes. What's good for the Sioux is that it's an OOC game, because they are notorious for especially trying to injure HE key players when they know you have a big game coming up. I have seen this with my own two eyes, several years back they took multiple runs at BU's John Curry during a Friday game and finally succeeded in concussing him and separating his shoulder, knocking him out of the Beanpot game against BC the next Monday. But again, this is an OOC game and they'll probably be scared ****less by all the people in the Ralph, they average maybe 1,000 at their rink, so they'll be less likely to injure someone. On topic: Parise was named the NHL #1 Star of the week.
  6. I think players in the USNDTP have to agree to 1 or 2 year contracts/commitments when they join the program. In order to get out of the program they either have to be kicked out or released from their contracts. There is no way the USNDTP would let them out of their contracts to go to the OHL, that's what happened with BC's goalie recruit Maxwell after he reneged on his verbal; he lobbied for a release so he could join the team that held his OHL rights (where his father was recently added to the staff) but they wouldn't do it. It's still just a rumor, but when I said "verballed" I meant it in the sense that he has agreed to go there, they already own his rights. He had said that he would make his final decision in April, but that doesn't mean he hasn't already made up his mind and is just waiting to announce. Let's face it, Morin used the threat of the NCAA to get a better package from the Rangers; I hate kids like that.
  7. Too lazy to look back, so sorry if this is old news to those on board: Harvard's Crimson Hockey Blog reported that Conor Morrison of the BCHL's Salmon Arm is interested in going the NCAA route. His rumored choices are Harvard (duh, it's their blog), Wisconsin, UND, and BU. He's a smallish forward, played at Northwood Prep (up near Lake Placid, NY), and represented Germany at the WJC's. With an '89 birth date I'm guessing he would be an '09 recruit. Edit to add: there was a rumor on HFBoards that Jeremy Morin verballed to Kitchener of the OHL, and also that D man Cam Fowler will not honor his commitment to Notre Dame and head to the OHL as well.
  8. Gotta win it in OT, SO wins only count toward CCHA points, in the NCAA record it will count as a T. Other scores: Vermont lost to Merrimack BU beating Maine (who've had 3 players ejected from the game) Northeastern came back to beat UMass Cornell lost to Dartmouth that BC score was UML:6 - BC: 0 Clarkson is leading Princeton UNH and PC tied 4 - 4
  9. I know, but on the bright side: BC lost, that should help
  10. Hunter Bishop just tied the tOSU - MSU game with 10.7 seconds left. 1 - 1
  11. Go Sioux! Beat those Landcows. slightly OT: if you have NHL Network, Kelly Zajac's Union Dutchmen are playing against Yale right now. PWR related: BC and Northeastern are currently losing their post-Beanpot games.
  12. The Devils put up a nice season highlight video here. Scroll to the 0:30 sec mark and they show the tandem hit on Gerbe by Parise and Langenbrunner that knocked him out of the NHL. Some Devils postgame interviews: Zajac, Parise Zajac article: Winnipeg Free Press . . . there was another article on him where it's revealed that his linemates have started calling him "The Godfather" (Old School reference) but I can't seem to find it now. Also, what is this All Star video that has Parise lamenting the fact that he can't get on Brad Miller Time? I would love to see that.
  13. Ughh . . . Parise was highlighted in the New York Post's infamous Page Six this week as one of hockey's biggest puck hunks.
  14. Staffy didn't want to get one up'd by Matt Greene's multiple body checks on Zach Parise.
  15. And another PPG . . . now at 34. Devils tried really hard to get Parise the 'trick but to no avail . . . he should get an assist as someone did get the ENG. So tonight: Parise 2G + 2A and Zajac: 2A
  16. Parise with goal 33 tonight against the Isles.
  17. 3rd is underway. This game is really boring . . . still 3 - 3. And Harvard's band is annoying the crap out of me./ rant 6 minutes left, both teams have had a pp, still tied at 3. 4 minutes left, BC with 3 consecutive icings. Under a minute left, BC takes the 4 - 3 lead. 41 seconds left . . . Harvard timeout . . . BC wins 4 - 3 . . . sorry I don't have better news . . .
  18. They will play 20 min. overtime periods until someone wins. Edit: my bad, I asked one of the BU beat writers and he said they'll treat it as a regular game with respect to overtime. I swore they played to sudden death, but I've never been to a Beanpot consolation game so I guess I must be wrong.
  19. BC ties it at 3 End of the 2nd: all tied at 3. BC has had more shots and more powerplays, but Muse looks only marginally better than last week.
  20. It would also be huge for Harvard's goalie . . . he's making his first career start. Under 7:00 in the 2nd still 3 - 2 Harvard
  21. 2 - 1 Harvard Both HU goals by Michaud. 2 - 2 Now . . . BC ran the goalie but the goal counts. 3 - 2 Harvard now on a SHG (all of this has happened within the span of 2 min) We're now halfway through regulation.
  22. Not my son (I'm not that old) . . . just a good friend, I've always referred to him as "the boy" for some reason
  23. That gametracker isn't gonna work, gametracker really is a crapshoot now, very unreliable. I'll update the Beanpot Consolation game here in this post. Can't do the Championship Game, I'll be too emotionally unstable as it's the Boy's very last Beanpot game. (And yes, I am a girl, so I'm allowed to be emtionally unstable over a hockey game. ) End of the 1st: Tied 1 - 1 (the teams traded PP goals) Edit: Only took a period, but yes the gametracker is now working.
  24. Well, it's 1 - 1 now. I'll update the first game, but I don't think I can handle the Championship game emotionally. I'll put all updates in this post, don't want to add extraneous off topic posts to this thread.
  25. I don't know about winning the game . . . but they are currently winning. 1 - 0 Harvard Harvard is using their backup goalie. BC is using John Muse. (shocker)
