  1. gotta field the punt and save 20 yards
  2. I talked with a few parents of UND players a couple of years ago and they said similar things about NDSU. They told me that the SU coaches talked crap about UND during recruiting and the things they told their kids were not true. They also said their kids spent a fair amount of time when new recruits came to visit trying to straighten out the lies they had been told by SU coaches. I guess it all depends on whose ox is being gored.
  3. Watching the match on FSN+ in Twin Cities. Great HD picture
  4. He is Mark Chmura's son. Another son Dylan plays for Michigan State.
  5. Very impressive!
  6. I was really disappointed with the end of the first half when we were on our own 9 and snapped the ball twice with the clock running and left about 12-14 seconds on the play clock both times. That gave PSU 20-25 seconds extra which is just what they needed to get another FG before half. That needs to be recognized by the coaches, QB, center or anybody that can speak up and keep that from happening at the time. Poorly done by all.
  7. Bartels did a nice job but wasn't perfect either. Joe was 7/8 and has had two pretty good games in a row and has been steadily improving. I would stick with Joe.
  8. The game is really fast for those players right now. It will slow down and get easier with more experience. That is a tough place to put a couple of freshman in this early in their careers. Hope for the best but it is understandable.
  9. i was sitting in that corner and thought the same thing.
  10. Something to build on. That hasn't been true for a couple of years. Headed in the right direction but it will take time.
  11. lets go
  12. I'm with Ira. As I posted earlier in this thread I don't think Joe played poorly. He had 5 incompletions and if we catch a couple of balls we could have and we get a PI that wasn't called he is all of a sudden 4 for 6 and everybody is happy. He had a bad throw where he got hit as he released the ball. There was one poor throw in Q2 but that was the only one I would put on him.
  13. I'm sure I will get roasted for this but was at the game and didn't think Mollberg was bad. I know the stats say otherwise but I thought he was ok. One incompletion should have been PI, at least 1 was dropped and another he got ht in ribs as he released it and it went way high. A couple of times he threw really early because of pressure. He did have 1 bad throw where he overthrew a receiver that was wide open I qtr 2 I think it was
  14. I predict that I will have about 6 beers, 2 brats, 4 wings and a lot of other food tailgating before the game.
  15. I thought Idowu had a good game. 6th on team in tackles and 1 short of being 4th on team and he didn't play much more than half time. He didn't see the field in the 1st qtr for sure.
  16. Where's Loyal Janke?
  17. UND wins 15-12 in game 5
  18. Big comeback from down 24-22 to win game four 30-28. On to game 5
  19. Lost game 3 25-21
  20. We won game 2 25-21. Lost 20-17 lead in game 1 and were up 20-17 in game 2 but they tied at 21 before we ran last 4.
  21. USD 26-24 in first. We led most of game but kicked it away at end
  22. 24 hours from the first tailgating of the season. Go Sioux.
  23. on a related note - whatever happened to the Walrus?
  24. The biggest issue was scholarship $$. D1-AA had a lot more $$ to offer than DII. The second advantage was when we were transitioning SU was already eligible. That was a deciding factor for at least one kid going to SU who is in the NFL now. Currently the success SU has had recently is a deciding factor.
  25. The first kick of your college career is pretty tough. I'm sure his head was spinning and the game is really fast at that point compared to HS. He also understood the importance of getting some points there which makes it even harder. For him to make it says a lot. Congrats to him.
