  1. Any word on the status of Reyes and Rich for this weekend?
  2. Thanks for the perspective. I didn't see Studsrud play in HS so I have nothing to compare him to.
  3. I didn't notice him but he wasn't on my radar. Sorry.
  4. Boltmann was very good tonight and threw the ball well. To my untrained eye he seemed to have a pretty quick release. Had some zip on the out routes and shorter passes and also decent touch on longer passes over the top, especially for a hs player. His receivers dropped two long passes that would have made his stats better and one would have gone for a TD. Edina mostly ran out of the shotgun and a lot of read option. Boltmann ran the ball very well and took it up the middle for about a 45 yard TD similar to what we have seen Studsrud do. Their entire offense revolved around what he could do. Minnetonka blitzed him a lot and was often too much for their O-line to handle. He hung in there well and continued to make plays. I was impressed.
  5. I'm heading to Edina tonight and will see 2017 QB commit Brock Boltmann play. Will post my "expert" thoughts tonight or tomorrow.
  6. The first paragraph makes the most sense to me. Obviously he can't share all that he knows immediately.
  7. Lou loses a lot of credibility with me in general for being a main spokesman for UM having only MN players and he played for UM but came from Canada himself.
  8. Well ..... Lou has grandsons playing for both UM and RPI so I guess he might be seeing things through red and maroon colored glasses
  9. Everyone should be afraid for the UND season. Lou Nanne was on KFAN today and said he wasn't impressed with UND after seeing them in person. Said D and goaltending weren't strong. Of course he says the goofs will be good. But I know he has no bias.
  10. I am confused by this argument/complaint. There would be a lot more interest and attendance if we were playing our regional rivals rather than schools like Sac St, SUU, Cal Poly, etc. There are some nice names to bring in but I would bet we would draw better in January basketball games vs. SDSU, USD and NDSU rather than Montana, Montana State and Idaho State.
  11. I have to believe that Kennedy has a plan, probably involving the Summit League. It is hard to imagine that he isn't working something in the background.
  12. The only other avenue to saving $$ that I see is to lessen the travel costs. Summit anyone? Also there is talk that the Big Sky would consider us for a football only membership. That would reduce travel costs for their other sports.
  13. I really hope not. He seems like a good kid and is a very good football player. I met him this week in a class I was talking to and he was extremely polite and seemed very bright.
  14. A young woman that I coached in youth basketball went to school at Wisconsin. Almost the first day on campus she was asked to join the rowing team because she looked the part (athlete) and they have a ton of scholarship money they need to spend. They use it to help balance their men's sports.
  15. We re-loaded the Sack City sign with new numbers tonight. It will be there Saturday and am hoping we burn up a lot of them.
  16. we are driving up from the cities for the game. Bringing 5
  17. I think we are getting a little ahead of ourselves with the talk of home games and byes. I am really hoping we win this weekend and then go from there.
  18. I ran into a couple of young women a few years ago who played at St. Cloud when Idalski was an assistant there. They weren't overly critical but didn't have much good to say about their experience with him. It was obvious they were holding back because I was a UND guy.
  19. I agree with all of this. What is too bad is that we didn't get into the playoffs last year to get this process jump started and a year further down the tracks.
  20. The reason I think it matters where we stand now is that it is hard to move up but easy to move down with a loss. At 24 we can't afford to move down at all. If we were higher we could afford a loss much easier and still be in position for the playoffs.
  21. Agree 100%. I don't really like the name but have made my peace with it also
  22. I watched on line and listened to Michaels. He is tough to listen to. The camera work was terrible from the Sac St crew. Usually the shot was too tight and you couldn't see where the ball or the runner/receiver ended up. On Studsrud's long TD run we only saw the first 15 yards or so.
  23. The $24B corporation I work for just changed the name of our division. We had no say in it as it was mandated. There were a lot of emails regarding that we need to change email signatures and voice mail greetings to the new name, how to do it and deadlines for getting it done. No options for us either. UND is behaving like I would expect any large organization to. We fought the good fight to keep the Sioux name and lost after spending a lot of effort and money. I was a big supporter of that fight but at some point we need to move on. I have both Sioux and Hawks gear and wore a Sioux sweatshirt and a Fighting Hawk hat to the football game last week. I am not anti-Sioux but I really don't understand the anti-Hawks at all costs crowd. We aren't getting the Sioux name back, unfortunately, so lets not continue to bash our new name.
  24. I have never seen a fan base that didn't think their SC coach was better than everyone else's SC coach. I wonder how many secrets there are out there.
  25. looks like he can make guys miss.
