This has been going on in conference tournaments for decades. Speaking of that, anybody else think the 2-out-of-3 opening weekend prior to the Final Five/Frozen Face-off/etc is no longer necessary? Open that slot up for additional non-conference. Seed based on regular season finish, bottom half of the leagues go golfing. Great thread by the way!

It was done this way with an 8-team format for a number of years.

This puts asses in seats and rewards regular season success. Totally on board.

Look at the body of work over the season and the way the teams played their regional finals, I'd say he's dead on. But as recent history has shown us, it's anybody's for the taking.

There are about 70 schools in MN participating (all Twin Cities metro) and it has been and will continue to grow.
