  1. USCHO picked UND seventh in the preseason poll with a first-place vote. The USA Today preseason poll had UND sixth. With home ice for the regional, a trip to the Frozen Four was a reasonable expectation. If they didn't make the Frozen Four, you'd all be complaining that the team didn't play to its potential and how it was a missed opportunity. (Even those that don't know about hockey agreed that UND was a Frozen Four contender.....INCH had the Sioux second in the WCHA and third in the nation while Fox Sports had the Sioux fifth in the nation).
  2. I hope Sioux fans don't play the "we weren't supposed to be there" junk. Parise, Smaby, Spirko, Zajac, etc., returning from last year.....Toews, Lee, Oshie, etc., coming in....11 NHL draft picks, 5 first rounds and potentially this year's number one....a home regional to get to the Frozen Four. It's bad enough Gopher fans used it last year.
  3. Tyler didn't play in the third place game.
  4. You could've used about 3,000 more fans there the way it sounded last Friday night.
  5. Tech has been shut out more than any other WCHA team this season....eight total. Anchorage is second at six. St. Cloud has been shut out twice...the same as North Dakota. As far as not getting shut out back to back very often....Tech was shut out in three straight games by CC and St. Cloud earlier this season. Elliott had a better weekend.
  6. The fourth-place team in the WCHA is the second-best team in the country? That makes sense. You do realize the Michigan Tech team UND swept is from 2006 and not 1976, right?
  7. It's a shame UND couldn't use some of that energy to actually win a title of some sort. Considering 2000 was such a long time ago, is losing by three in the national title game the new UND standard of excellence?
  8. You should be thanking Minnesota for getting North Dakota mentioned on the list. I noticed you didn't mention that Minnesota is the ONLY team listed twice. BTW.....Minnesota vs. Minnesota State Mankato is not a great rivalry, but Minnesota is Mankato's biggest rival. Same with SCSU and UMD.
  9. It's a shame with all the talent the Sioux have they have to rely on other teams to help them. I'll take the "no-class" Lucia over the "no-ability" Hakstol.
  10. Maybe Lucia believes that ripping his own kids in the media is a bad idea.
  11. Without noting the taunting Lamoureux did to provoke it.
  12. Great point. The Sioux fans never turn on their boys....oh wait....did you read the last five pages of this thread? And of course Gopher fans are going to leave early. A 6-1 slaughter....they're not masochists.
  13. On November 28, 1999, the Sioux had 1:52 of 5 on 3 against New Hampshire and didn't score. C'mon, there's five of you and only three of them. What gives?
  14. Nine assists, three more than any other player in the tournament....selfish bastard.
  15. So the Sioux worked harder against Bucky than Minnesota did and still got swept by the same margin? That's a good thing?
  16. Wouldn't it be because Toews is the best two-way player in the country and Kessel is lazy, doesn't play defense and won't pass to his teammates?
  17. That guts and grits sure has worked out well for the Sioux. Jonathan Toews was 11 years old the last time North Dakota added the ultimate hardware.
  18. Minnesota only outshot Cornell 39-18. If only Cornell wasn't dominating...the Gophers could've ended up with 40 shots.
  19. You didn't mention the fact that Tyler, his parents and the doctors wanted him to play in the regionals the following week and Lucia said no. That would just mess up your theory.
  20. Spoken like a true Sioux fan.
  21. What fan base doesn't do that? Every fan base trashes their rival's recruits.
  22. TC_transplant

    Hockey?

Because Kessel is lazy, can't play defense and isn't a two-way player like (insert any Sioux name here).
