  1. 714.
  2. Assuming that Owen's kids feeling ok we should sweep.
  3. Watching the Edmonton game. About a minute ago Matt Greene bounced off another player and fell funny twisting his knee. No idea how bad but the replay sure didn't look good.
  4. Sure would hate to not see Cornell lose in the first round again.
  5. I hope it's not like last year where parity in the WCHA kept some competitive teams out of the tournament. We've almost all got to run the tables in the non-conference games to get our due.
  6. I apologize for the error entirely on my part. Your quote relates to the anti-trust matter, right. If the NCAA is a monopoly I don't know what is. I think that the judge was saying that the burden of proof was on the University but then that's what you have trials for. I did a blog post concerning the actual issue of whether the name is "hostile and abusive." You can read it here. Assuming that it were found that the NCAA HAD NOT followed their own rules it would have been easier to prove that their actions were capricious. One would think that would make it hard for the NCAA to change the rules in the future. What appears to have happened is that the highest level of the state government made a decision to quit fighting and cave in. One thing ignored in this is what would have happened if we had merely won on the technicalities. Wouldn't the NCAA be put in a very bad light if they were to resurrect the issue. They might have done that anyway, but at a price. Given that I don't think we got very much out of them at all for our settlement.
  7. So we can visit neutral sites like the Xcel Center or the place next to Denver University.
  8. Well I think we can make a good case to host the regionals every five years or so. Certainly attendance and atmosphere was excellent even though it was also hostile and abusive.
  9. Well that IS what the Herald said but it's not how I read the preliminary injunction. I read that as saying that it was up to us to prove the breach of contract, right? That is in fact the very reason why we have trials. Update: I hope that that was the right passage to quote. I haven't read the entire opinion which I promise to do later. Still the language in very nearly the same as used by the Herald and I think in context shows that the preliminary injunction did NOT tie our hands.
  10. I think losing the lawsuit even on the technical grounds that our crack legal team chose would be very damaging to the NCAA. At that point it brings them open to all kinds of criticism.
  11. Great idea, we could invite the Atomic Energy Commission to help us out in the halftime show.
  12. On the other hand maybe his game is improved with the change.
  13. I'm hoping for 9 WCHA teams in the tournament with Mankato on the outside looking in.
  14. There you go trying to inject some facts into the debate.
  15. If he's good with his money you are undoubtedly right. If not who knows.
  16. I'm shocked shocked to have you suggest that the powers that be will try to negotiate in secret. I'm also pretty sure that they won't fool everybody and that the light of day will shine on any secret pacts.
  17. I'm about 100% certain then the teams suffer the sanctions. On the other hand if we would have fought these ridiculous rules and won.....
  18. Let's see Miami played Nebraska Omaha, Ohio State, and Vermont. None of those teams are in the top 20.
  19. Well neither Florida State or Utah had a crackerjack like Wayne Stenehjem taking care of business.
  20. I don't find it surprising that a person can't recognize an hockey player in street clothes. They look a whole lot different. On the other hand you gotta be kinda dumb to assume that an hockey player you have never seen before is "Davidson."
  21. I hear Walski's working real hard in practice.
  22. He wanted to but the powers that be said school first, school second and hockey a distant third. Instead of focusing on his life after hockey he took the easy route and went to the NHL.
  23. 5 games, 4 on the road, 4 against ranked opponents. 0.43 Team GAA. 3-1-1. I think we should be pretty happy with the start.
  24. I really don't think want to blame this game, but I do have a story. For those that remember it the Old barn had a beautiful indian painted behind the penalty box. Some of the old player pictures used that as a backdrop. Being around 6 and watching too many cowboy and indian movies I asked my dad why there was an Indian there. He said because that's what the team stood for being the strongest toughest fighters there were. Now my dad has never been politically correct. But that day he did what any father should.
