  1. I never thought we saw the potential of Brian Lee, but to some around here saying that was a brutal attack on the guy. I agree that he would have likely been a dominant player in his third or fourth year here if he would have stuck around.
  2. I thought that TJ Oshie was avoiding contact this weekend which would be understandable considering his injury (crosschecked in Denver according to the coach.) I think that Oshie's physical play has gotten the team playing more physical. The coaching staff may have told the team to back off too as they didn't want to give Campion any excuse to put us in the box.
  3. Kauk is more cooler than Pat Sweeney.
  4. Don't like the Wild or Vikes (don't watch NFL). I do like the Twins.
  5. I understand that coach Hakstol specifically praised this article at the Sioux Boosters luncheon last Friday.
  6. I was surprised that Lucia wasn't there. The old Sioux Booster President used to roast the coaches quite a bit, but I don't think the current guy would.
  7. The rules were changed and as long as you aren't interferring with the goalie, the goal won't be taken away. Kozek wasn't even interfering with the goalies vision as the shot came from the other way. I'd have to check, but I don't think that even a whistle would have been called for as he wasn't camped out there. Generally you only see the whistle (and face off out of the zone) when someone's standing in the crease.
  8. Puck the Gophers? That's what my kid heard.
  9. The charging call on Kaip was redicoulous. 1) Matt Watkins took a much harder check in the first period in the same spot on the boards no call. 2) He didn't hit him hard at all. 3) Woog even thought it was bad. Finley's roughing call was outrageous! What message does that send to a player except for take the shot when you got it because you're going to get called for it anyway. Lapoints call was egregious perhaps because Campion waited so long to make the call and Sheppard had just as good look if not better at it. In Lapoints defense the puck WAS right there. (Show me how you play the puck on your knees in that situation without having your stick in that position.) Oshie got tangled up with the Gopher (nobody's fault). The Gopher had his hat fall off in the exchange. OK fine, but you've got to call the punch to the back of the head. If you saw one you saw the other. The Sioux got one call in their favor by Campion I believe, when Duncan drew an interference in the first period. (Same corner as Kaips charge.) A similar play the other way was not called on us.
  10. Was Holy Cross not playing?
  11. We should have at least gotten a power play as Campion was watching interference at center ice during this entire time. Kaip's charging penalty 90% of the check went into the boards, Lapoints tripping, skating over his stick.
  12. And the skate blades were all metal.
  13. You can save big money on cigarettes by going there.
  14. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  15. We have other sports besides hockey? I thought it was going to refer to Oshie, Duncan and Vandervelde in the collective.
  16. It's only fair you stole it from Pat Sweeny.
  17. We better come to play.
  18. That's so childish, I need to get some.
  19. It might be better for him to play in the minors rather than continue to take this year off from hockey.
  20. We can hope.
  21. The play by play announcer will show up at Sioux Boosters Friday wearing his mother's wedding dress; leading many to wonder why specifically his mother's.
  22. I predict a Sioux sweep.
  23. I've always thought that McLeod was an empty suit and Sheppard was running the league. That's just my impression from watching McLeod speak.
  24. I liked 'em when we won them. Led to some bizarre situation, like having the opponents team pull their goalie while they had a lead in the game.
  25. They aren't? Why wasn't I told?
