Well I disagreed with the call at the time, but after seeing it I don't think I'm going to criticize the call even though a two minute call might have been more appropriate. The officials are told zero tolerance so blaming them probably isn't the way to go about it. On the other hand we can blame Don Adam's ignorance as the likely reason they had to take judgement away from the officials.

Considering that I changed my mind after replay on two bad calls, that only leaves one that I consider bad. (Trupps) All in all a pretty good night for the refs after all.

That redtoadl posted a video of the disallowed goal. I didn't see Radke at the time, but thought that they had changed the call because the State player was bitching. However in the replay it looks like ultimately the proper call was made.

It looked to me like he got knocked on his behind. He did pop up and get back into the guys face. I think the officiating would improve if they called the cheap stuff after the whistle but apparently the league thinks otherwise.

It was awesome until Finley missed the tip in.

I think B. Shepard must have called that penalty on Radke negating the goal since Anderson didn't wave it off right away. (just my guess.) Also didn't he call the matching up penalty where Trupp got an instigating. Going by memory here.

After reading this I went back and looked at the videos you referenced. Oshie's CFB certainly looks worse in the video than it did at the time. Of course this is one more example of how silly the WCHA's rule is towards replays. If the video would have been shown there would have been less hostility to the refs. I guess if they're consistent to that standard it's ok. The same goes towards the disallowed goal. Apparently the official closest to the net (Anderson) didn't see the interference. The official on top apparent did (S Sheppard). I would have liked to see Sheppard make the call right away rather than waiting. But maybe they'll work that out as they get used to the two referee system. I have to say that on balance this makes the new system better since they did get the call right, although I disagree with how they went about it.

Gennoway was very impressive last night. He could take the breakout play into a whole new level. How many times did he turn the puck up the ice rather than pass it back to the man behind the net?

I do know that he and Radke were down on the ice when the puck went in, but I don't know who initiated the contact. b. Oshie's penalty c. Trupps Instigating penalty. Shameful. If you were serious about not wanting fighting in college then call the cheap stuff after the whistle. Don't make up something to call both sides.

I've got to find the tape of the game and post the penalty on youtube. It was boarding and Kleven looked at Schmitt to see if he had seen the call, which he hadn't. The tape is definitive as being a call that the AR should make.

The official (Thule?) called a five minute major with less than five minutes left on RPI. Woog said he didn't think it was a penalty let alone a five.

Sorry I should have said that someone I know was at boosters and said that Hak announced that line. Also Jean-Phillipe has had a good week in practice. He liked how both Marto and Lapoint played. What sounded coolest is that Eddie Belfour took a stall in the locker room and the players were never told before hand.
