I believe the problem is that McCloud and especially Sheppard don't want the game called right. I think they want the refs to call it this one sometimes and another way at other times. "Do it so much and no more." How else do you explain how every officials calls it equally bad?
-
Maybe it's a good idea I don't have TV tonight.
-
Wasn't Lammy called for that against CC. It's not called against Duluth or Denver. I don't argue with the calls against the Sioux, but Denver has been committing some that haven't been called.
-
PCM you're more cooler than Sweeney.
-
Wouldn't that be cool if he got a National Championship ring out of the deal?
-
While we're at it how did he get hurt. I didn't see it as it was away from the play. I asked someone who was watching it on TV and they hadn't see it either.
-
For some reason we were missing the intensity for most of the weekend.
-
That's pretty unlikely. The other teams aren't playing to lose.
-
We have been an about average frozen four team.

I predict a Sioux Sweep!

OK, let's get serious. I'm sick to death of the stupid "Move of the Game" moment. I think it's been EVERY home game that they've put some kid or something dancing around. Hey we're hockey fans. It was funny once!
-
I thought throwing Trupp up there on the power play with Oshie and Duncan was a pretty interesting move. I think that if Hak sticks with it it'll work out after a bit.
-
Let's put these guys away tonight quickly.
-
Undoubtedly you are correct, and I think he is a very good defenseman. But for the sake of discussion what are his strengths. He isn't going to be a big hitter at this level. With his height he can't really hit a guy without drawing a penalty. However he's good at tying up people, skates very good for a big man, has pretty good skating and puck handling skills for a man of his size. With his long reach he can really pick the forwards pockets. He's led the team in plus/minus before and they said he was a +4 last night. Yeah he can be on my team.
-
Right, he was near the opponents penalty box when I first noticed him. There was one Duluth defenseboy somewhat near him. The training room is basically between the two main locker rooms. You'd expect them to take him in there no matter what the severity of the injury was. However as you say it did not look good.

It ain't easy to practice in the fog.

Anyone see Gennoway's injury? It was my impression that he was just up at the blue line (defensive zone) when he got hurt. Well away from the play. Also how about the non-checking from behind that Oshie took from #11 (Schmidt?). I didn't see the hit but I did see him go head first into the boards. I thought it was a sure 5 minute game DQ but Anderson called it "interference." Any thoughts?

Sioux Sweep. Course I'd pick a Sioux Sweep if we were playing Ottawa.

I thought it was funny that Frank and Doug though Friday's game was proof that the Gophers were on track. I'm not trying to knock the Alaska down, but they've been a pretty bad program in the past. Thinking that one game against a traditionally weak opponent is a benchmark is kinda sad. Now just who HAS Minnesota beaten this year in the WCHA? Mankato twice and Alaska once. HMMM. On the other hand the last year I counted them out before Christmas I think they won the National Championship.
-
What's on tap tonight? Sioux vs Gophers last January Saturday night? I hope we win and Robbie Bina does something noteworthy.
-
I agree that it's who Trupps playing with. Having him on the grind line just doesn't make sense for him. Not that I think anyone else should be demoted. I think some of these guys (Miller, Martens, Zajac etc) are going to start chipping a few in. We need some fear of the other lines to realize our potential I think.

Prpich got benched for a game after he cross checked some loser up high in front of the penalty box and got a five minute major. (Totally uncalled for of course since the loser had his stick up high.) My biggest problem with Radke is that he's not another TJ Oshie.
-
City/State you were born and where you live now? Grand Forks for both Did you attend UND? Yes Favorite current sioux player? TJ Oshie Favorite all time sioux player? Phil Sykes (1982 Home series against Wisconsin #1 v #2. Phil got hat tricks both nights) Favorite all time NON sioux WCHA player and team? That goofball backup goalie for Denver in the late 90's. I told my son the only other college he could play for would be Duluth. Added: I am in fact a season ticket holder. I've been attending games since the old barn although I have no idea if those were season tickets or not. Otherwise we've had tickets since day one of the winter sports building.

Good call!
