  1. Duh..the Jay Kleven Incident? http://www.uscho.com/news/id,1147/ThisWeekInTheWCHANov232000 By the way Shepard lied in that story. The video clearly shows that Mike Schmitt's head was turned when the hit happened. Schmitt only looked at it when he heard the player striking the board.
  2. What we've got to do is go back to old time hockey, you know like Eddie Shore.
  3. They should act like they're trying though just to make the games worth going to.
  4. It'd be a lot better if the other teams just let us win.
  5. If we didn't jump off the rail last season after St Cloud then we don't need to do so now.
  6. Skippy you may have a hard time believing it but the number of penalties is not an indication of bias. It's really a matter of how you call the game. Calling bias (and of course there is such a thing as bias) is a tough thing to do. It's very easy as a fan to wonder why they called this holding on your team when they had three or four opportunities to call it on the other team. The problem is are you seeing it objectively, or through the eyes of a fan. The larger problem is that the level of officiating is so low. You can't tell if a bad call is bias or is it just a crappy call. The fix is to insist that the professionals in the league rise to the level of the amateurs. If every bad call was in favor of the Gophers you could certainly prove that bias. On the other hand if only 5 out of 7 bad calls were called in favor of the Gophs you can't prove anything. Certainly the level of officiating is so low that nobody has any confidence in that call being the right call. Its easy to go from there to thinking that there is bias.
  7. I think its up to Lammy. If he plays well (good to great) you're right. Otherwise Greico very well get a shot.
  8. I thought you only went there when you were too young to drink in EGF. How about the Prarie Schooner up in Angus? HMMM Deep fried mushrooms
  9. Ok I'll play. Don't we have to go to Howards Pizza before the game? Frenchies after. Level 7, Larry'O's, the Roxy. The Bridge. Been there done that.
  10. When things get really dark we can complain about the polls. I see USCHO has dropped us down 6 spots in their poll that's out today. That's one more spot than they dropped us when we were swept by the #1 team in the country(Maine).
  11. Say it ain't so.
  12. At least were polite enough to play in the afternoon for them to follow the game. I'm always looking for a reason to leave work early.
  13. Has this off week really been a month long? Cause it sure seems like it.
  14. Wasn't it his wife that was sick (and sadly passed on?)
  15. Apparently the NCAA is going to make the team fly the wrong way to tire us out.
  16. When we played them I didnt think Maine was all that good. I thought we just needed to gel as a team. Now when Wisconsin beat us this time last year I thought they were a very good team at the start of the year.
  17. The state of college hockey today seems to rely on young talent. Polls this time of the year just can't factor in how these Freshman and Sophmores are going to develop by the end of the year. UND has the potential to be a #3 (or #1) of course. But we've got a long way to go to get there. Apparently the other teams are in the same boat.
  18. It's not so much a problem just that I fall asleep before the game is over. I'd like to blame my job for making me wake up early but I wouldn't lie to you guys. Have no fear though the Sioux can do it even if I fade off in the second period.
  19. It won't be easy but if you want to run for the McNaughton you have to win these games.
  20. I wonder if the reason the NCAA didn't petition to move this case up to the federal courts was to keep the ruling limited. Of course if UND wins they'll have a hard time enforcing their mandate elsewhere, but they're dumb enough to try I think.
  21. Actually the league officials should be the ones talking. Maybe if they released their reports I'd believe that they actually give a darn about improving the officiating. Right now I really think they don't.
  22. I'd say the bigger problem is staying up to watch/listen to the games. Any chance we can convince them to play their games in the afternoon? Any info on the Sioux Injury situation?
  23. I think the officiating would improve if we actually did talk about it. Here we are in a amatuer game and we're not allowed to talk about the people who are actually being paid for their involvment.
  24. Take last night, even Doug Woog thought the call that incidentally went in favor of Minnesota was bad. It's true the officials are pretty poor, but I do think the refs favor Wisconsin and Minnesota a bit. I've watched the Gopher games where they don't play the Sioux and they've got the calls their way. On the other hand I'm sure the Gopher fans can point out plenty of bad calls that went against them. So it's hard to separate out any hypothetical bias from the noise of bad officiating. One example, there's no way that Jay Kleven would have been fired if he made a call like that for Minnesota. By the way the Saturday call he was punished was correct. He called perhaps a bad penalty on Friday. From what I hear Friday Kleven called a legitimate slash on Minnesota, but the Gopher only slashed the Sioux player because he was getting his stick held.
  25. Now that I think about it I'm not sure. But I am sure about the call.
