If anything I think the Sioux could use a few more goons (no offense) out there. One or two more physical forwards and a couple of hulking defense.
-
It was a great game. I don't see why you should get your panties in a bunch over some harmless poking fun at the goophers.
-
Ok so then the Coach shouldn't be playing Lammy every night when he's not 100%.
-
I checked the box score. I think it was holding on Kerr. 1.5 second power play. Big flippin deal.
-
Mr. Sheppard. In what way did the MTU player have the control necessary to blow the whistle. Are you aware that a puck merely bouncing off of the player or his stick does not constitute control?
-
I should point out that if I HAD booed (I didn't but felt like it) it would have been booing Hakstol as I didn't agree with pulling Greico for the reasons stated above. I think booing a young amatuer athelete playing for "your" team is always wrong.

Right now we aren't that good. I try to put things in perspective that most of these players can't drink yet. (At least legally). I couldn't have taken this pressure when I was that age. Maybe we'll get better this season or maybe we won't. I'm sure the program will survive.

At least give him a FAIR shot when the "#1" goalie has been struggling.
-
Of course that's BS because if they had the control of the puck necessitating a stoppage in play then they would have enough control to get the puck out of the crease right?
-
I stuck around for a couple minutes after the game so I didn't hear the start of the post game show. However at the end it sounded like they thought it was freezing the puck in the crease, a penalty shot. I only saw the play on the jumbotron and I could have missed the puck between the legs I guess. That being said then IF he didn't freeze it, then why did Sheppard blow the whistle? He can't have it both ways, either the puck was frozen in which case it's a penalty shot, or the whistle shouldn't have been blown, right? How much time was left when the MSU player intentionally dislodged the net. If that was within the last two minutes that also should have been a penalty shot. Of course none of the three stoodges out there even saw something that was clear as a bell to the other 11,500 people in the building.
-
except of course not calling an automatic penalty shot for a player freezing the puck in the crease with 1.5 seconds left in the game when we were down 1 goal.
-
With crappy numbers like that he'll be lucky to get a chance to wash Hak's car. *sarcasm*

Even the last games with the students there were quiet. The excitement has left the Ralph, at least for now.

How many of the other players had the opportunity to stop that rush that resulted in the 2nd goal on Greico. So you pull the goalie who's been playing darned well. The third goal was not Lammy's fault at all. So you can't say that pulling Greico was bad for the team, but I think it was unfair to the young goalie.
-
I'm not a big fan of Lammy but it's kinda hard to blame the goalie when the other goalie darn near get's a shutout. I was at the game and I didn't think we were playing with that much emotion. I'm pretty sure that the 2nd goal was tipped in with a high stick.

I ditto the best idea on this thread, and this board. Bruce McCloud was AD of Duluth was he not. In fact if I'm not mistaken he used his position on the NCAA tourney team to get his school our position even though we were higher in the standings. That was 1983 I believe the year we hosted the final four. (I don't think we called it the "Frozen four" back then.

Maybe it wasn't the best thing for Joe's Mom to teach him to check. Just Kidding!

If I had to guess I'd say that Blais would only take a coaching job where he's close to his Northern Minnesota roots.
-
The only thing I know about that is that when Woog announced his retirement the alumni department came up with a lot of money to get Blais to sign. Now what alumni would fund a coaching job?
-
My source says that Finley will get a goal and an assist tonight. Furthermore he'll throw a couple big checks, get into a fight and miss the game tomorrow night. At least I hope he does to quiet this thread down a bit.

The old Whitey's was exceptional. Sunday nights it'd be packed with an assortment of Bikers, College Students and the Grandma/Grandpa's. The only place I've seen where everyone would mix like that.
-
Not scrappy perhaps, but he played hard-nosed, old-school hockey.

I think that this team may need a bit of an extended road trip to come together. (OK, it sure didn't happen in Alaska.)

I'm pretty sure Henderson stayed for 4 years.

I was grabbing my tickets just now and saw that we've only got 7 for sure home games after this weekend. On the other hand counting this weekend we've had 14 home games already. Would anyone else appreciate it if we had more games after Christmas when we aren't all so busy? Think about it. With only four weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas we've had 7 home games. Due to time constraints I've given up two nights just to get a break. We have the same number of home games in the 10 weeks between Christmas and the playoffs.
