Comments about the officiating. Has there ever been a game with Adam referring where it didn't turn into an ugly game? That no way excuses the team for being taken out of their game in the 2nd period. I was at the game and since the WCHA has so much confidence in their officials they made a rule never to show a penalty on the jumbo-tron. So. Toew's three penalties. The first one he DID unnecessarily bump the goalie so, whatever. However he argued about the other two penalties. His hooking call near the goal, he seemed to claim his stick was held, was it? He also didn't seem to like the interference. I caught the Vandervelde hit out of the corner of my eye. At the time I thought he didn't hit him from behind but did charge and get his elbow up. Just curious, didn't make a difference in the game. There were several ghost penalties behind the play. There was one right at the time that Watkins made a big check in the corner (first period) Any ideas if that was a good one? (I thought Watkins came out flying in the first period, but he dropped off when the team lost it in the 2nd) But, it's just one game and there just kids. They'll get better.

I guess it's probably fairer than a total goals 2 game series.

Good reason to skip the sister-in-law's birthday party.

But our young players know we can beat 'em. They'll be better and I sure as heck hope we'll be better. Shoot early and often.

I thought Porter also got him with his hip. Bina was called for elbowing. I suppose without the elbow it may or may not have been called. The big difference is that the guy fell parallel to the boards. He wasn't close to head on. So it was no way close to a major penalty. Speaking of Penalties and the Wisconsin announcers, when Brian Lee took that elbow to negate a power play (I believe) the Wisconsin (color guy I think) said he didn't see any elbow.

Bishop did have that penalty but it was a bad call IMO so I don't think it would be held against him. I suspect it had more to do with Hak wanting his best players out there. I don't know though.

I think that Skille's accident was a freak accident that could have happened with any player hitting him like that. Somehow his arm got caught and that twisted it or something. I'm hoping Skille isn't hurt too bad and he gets back out on the ice first thing Monday.

Lucia's such a chickenpoop bastage. He'd be the first one crying if it happens to him.

I joined this board (as opposed to USCHO) as it's a friendly fan-based board. I would recommend that if someone says something you don't agree with that you politely point that out. The person that posts the snarky comment looks like the dummy.

That's where I got it from. That team really had a great class of Sophomores.

I was very impressed with the Sioux's over all team speed. That was the difference in the game. I wouldn't mind watching this game again, I just might stay up and do that. Speed Kills.

Class all the way.

Genoway's an exciting player as a forward. Oshies Penalty. He was skating side by side with Skille who had the puck. He took his right hand off his stick and used his elbow for leverage. Skille went down. I don't know that I've seen that called before.

Minny's not as used to people leaving as we are. They may still take it as an afront.

So far Bishop's been my favorite Freshman. That's because I like his style of play. Right now it's got to be a hard job to decide who to play. Think of last weekend. Hak didn't play Bishop Friday even though he scored a goal in the exhibition game. (Tough decision). Then in order to give Bishop his shot he sat out Ryan Miller Saturday even though he had a great game Friday. I'm sure that's not how Hak would like to do things. I"m certainly not saying Hak was wrong, just that he's had tough choices to make. (Which is a good thing for the team).

I liked the way he skated in the one game. I'm sure he'll be a contributer when he gets his chance.

Exactly Not the way I remember it. Exactly
