Goon, I sincerely apologize for flipping you off each and everytime I went around and around and around. I didn't really mean it.

Alaska is usually pretty physical. Our team isn't set out to play like that this year. Why play their game. Let's just run the score up and score over 10 goals this weekend.
-
Does this mean that as long as he scores one point per game the get-Finley guys will back down. I think we've seen in the past that the big men take at least a season and a half to become real productive. By that I mean guys like (Mike Commodore (NHL), Matt Greene (NHL), and Matt Smaby)

My two cents: If you're going to give Blais credit for recruiting the last two years, then why blame Hakstol because his Freshman aren't playing like seniors. The biggest problem with this team is that we don't have veteran leadership. There's no way you can lay that on Hak. (And....I was one that wanted us to recruit Sandelin. Shows how much I know doesn't it? I was ready to call a lost season the last two years. I've learned my lesson and won't quit till that fat cow is singing.

I saw that interview too. It was great to see Zajacs highlights against the gophers. The interviewer also gave Zach some easy questions to talk about how good UND is for developing NHL hockey players.
-
Thank you for answering. The bottom line is we don't know why and may never know.
-
As long as the teams putting out the effort to be competitive, I'm supporting them.

They've signed up those vendors to exclusive deals. I've heard that the Pizza vendor even went to the Ralph because some employees of another company were eating Italian Moon Pizza in the parking lot.

Did I say mental illness is something that's easy to deal with? Where did I say it? Now that we're out of it I should point out that I never bashed Mr. Hirsh and have always maintained that I wish for the best for him. I am saying that there is some evidence saying that this was a problem not related to his previous problems. Once again the fact is that this is all speculation and that's all it's going to wind up with. Perhaps when all of this is said and done we'll agree that we don't know what the story is, but that on balance we should give him the benefit of the doubt and wish him the best. What I don't get is the mental health side going nuts when they don't have any basis to judge the current issue. To hear someone diagnose a problem with never meeting the guy makes me really question their judgment. I have no idea. I'm not diagnosing the guy as I've never met him.
-
No this is the 21st century where people feel free to label someone as mentally defective with no knowledge of the facts.
-
Are you calling the guy from Inside College Hockey a liar. I've already had one person who was listening to the hockey game on the radio confirm what I reported as far as the interview. I don't recall that being said at all. In fact I'm pretty sure that the INCH said he had no idea whether or not Hirsh's other problems contributed to this. ***Update***Hill was not part of this interview that I'm talking about so Hill couldn't have made anything clear.*** Some questions for you that are so sure it's because of an illness. 1. What do you have to go by besides speculation? If you can speculate why can't others? 2. Were they lying when he said he was over that problem? 3. Is it appropriate to diagnose someone you've never met even if you are board certified? 4. Could a person have a bad attitude(or have lost the drive to compete) in addition to a problem that's under control? 5. What's meaner, claiming someone's mentally ill (with no cause) or saying that he has a bad attitude(or have lost the drive to compete) at this stage of his life? 6. Do you think Tyler Hirsh is reading this forum so that speculation will be hurtful to him? If that's the case do you think that people shouldn't discuss the issue at work or at home? I might come up with some more questions, but that's a good start.
-
I would think that if he was dismissed because of illness that you wouldn't be claiming that you're a better team without him. You'd be saying that you hope for the best for Mr. Hirsh.
-
So during the 1st intermission Tim Hennesey talked to a guy from INCH. They got to talking about Hirsh. The one interesting quote is that this guy quoted John Hill as saying they won't be as good on the ice but they'll be a better team. That doesn't sound to me like they dismissed him for being ill. He also discussed a number of rumors going around the league that Hirsh was a problem and didn't take practice and things seriously. I think that undercuts the "don't talk about it" crowd a bit.
-
Wow you can diagnose someone over the internet now. Jeez you guys are advancing. Since I'm just a hockey fan, can you described these symptoms and relate them to how they relate to his earlier diagnosis?
-
Let's see. You've got some people who are taking Hirsh's word that his year off solved those other problems. They are speculating what would have lead to his dismissal from the team. On the other hand you've got some folks diagnosing mental conditions without knowing the first thing about it. Who's out of line? Either way, I hope the guy gets through this whatever the cause.
-
We don't know if his problem is an illness or if it was attitude. Is it wrong to discuss the known facts of the case to figure out if it was attitude or his condition? How is the kicking him when he's down. Frankly I'd feel better for him if it was attitude and not his condition forcing him out. If it's attitude he can turn himself around. Are you going to speculate anything more about this supposed conversation between his coach and his mom?
-
And how do we know that Lucia asked his Mom? Do you have any evidence of that. I think a classy thing to do would be let Hirsh know before the equipment manager. And where did I kick Hirsh on this or any thread?
-
I'm not beating up on Hirsh here, now that he's not gopher-scum I truly wish him the best. However if his problem was medical rather than attitude would they have cleaned out his locker BEFORE they kicked him off of the team?
-
Goon did you get permission from the rumor patrol guy to post that?
-
I saw one interview of the guy a few years back and didn't like him. That being said you don't give up on something you've worked your whole life on a whim. The pressure of playing D1 hockey and keeping up your grades probably contributed to the problems. I'll bet the pressure is even higher playing for the goophers. As I said I didn't like him when he was a gopher, but I wish him the best now. I now feel the need to saw something nasty about the self appointed "rumor enforcer." I won't, but he was way out of line and off base.

I'm happy that we made it to the medal round no matter what the seed.

At least the bonehead didn't throw his stick.

Any TV: I checked my NHL package and didn't see anything.
-
That was a great step for this team. Let's take another one tomorrow night.
