You're kidding yourself if you think that we'll get an advantage in penalties called.

Thanks Youngblood is a great hockey movie. Also when it came out 20 years ago I had a thought that I wouldn't mind having relations with that Zamboni driver. Why do our Zamboni drivers have to look like a Gunderson?

Remember last year when the Goophers lost to a no-name team just so they wouldn't have to lose to us? On a more serious note, before Christmas I wasn't looking forward to this weekend at all. But with the Sioux playing well and the Gophers being able to be beat the last two weekends it should be an heck of a good weekend. We're going to have to step up the intensity even further if that's possible. I'm taking the USCHO pussy way out and predicting a split. Are we going to have an unsung hero step up or is it time for the DOT line to show us what they are capable of.

You can learn to punch in the barn, but you gotta learn to survive on the ice.

If they aren't calling it why not do it? I don't blame the other teams but rather the officiating. Since the officiating is so consistently bad, then there's one guy to blame. Papa Sheppard. I just read the article. I like this quote: The gag rule on speaking about the officiating has made the problem more worser. Let the coaches speak freely.

If the WCHA had any confidence in their officials they'd let the arena show the overhead replay to the fans. Since they have reason to believe their officials don't get the calls right, I'm sure not willing to assume any different.

Really no point to buy a ticket as I've already got the winning one in my billfold.

Right on, not sure about the year. I always found Casey's official picture to be a bit haunting. Rather than the other pictures this is a closeup of his face (rather than a full-body in uniform picture.) He's looking off in the distance looking...I don't know, driven. In the old programs they always had a black diagonal band across the picture.

Those "Thieves" at Thief River Falls have pulled off another caper. -
It's on the moon tape.

How proletarian.

I heard their seats were some kind of plastic nylon type weave. How tacky. I don't call that a nice seat.

Didn't someone write a book about that?

The team lost the crowd early in November, that is until Saturday night. It started to get noisy again. I had to show the kids the fight when my wife wasn't around.

Jeez, no picture of the protester. You sure won't get a job working for the Herald. Nice pics.

It seems so unfair to punish him for something like that.

Didn't we have Zelkin up here a while ago? The first thing to do is get rid of Greg Sheppard. After that let the referee's know that they are all on probation. Promise more money to the ones that make the cut. It's my opinion that Greg Sheppard can make a good referee bad.

If a player gets a shot at the pros and finishes up school in summer school that doesn't count as a successful graduation. I think that's the way they count graduations.

Good point. Kozak played his physical game with a reckless disregard for his own body.

That's an excellent point. Rarely is a player injured in a straight up fight. Anderson won't miss a game (other than the fighting penalty). Resorting to cheap shots during the play actually can hurt the player. Of course the best course of action is good officiating. It's my opinion that most fights (not necessarily last nights) are caused by poor officiating. The FIRST thing that needs to be done to get fighting out of college hockey is to call the games properly and fairly. That and the sanctions against fighting that are in place today will pretty much cure any problem there is.

Just one example of blowing it was the scuffle Eric Fabian got into early in the game. He was down along the boards in the South end. The whistle blew and the AA player crosschecked him (downward). Then I think he kicked him or stepped on him (could have be inadvertent) That's when Fabian fought his way back up and went after him. That's got to be called everytime, that action has nothing to do with hockey.

Alaska was doing the same thing all Friday night, I didn't see it AS much Saturday. They weren't using it to injure, merely to tie up the other player at the face off. Bonehead the Ref didn't call it all weekend, so why not do it?
-
Tim Hennesy said he rode down the elevator with ? Anderson their captain that Kaip busted up. He said he had five or six stiches. This ref really lost control of the game. IMO it could have gotten really ugly. In the 3rd he called an elbow by Radke, but didn't call the one that Porter took. Porter's hit was making a valuable play, getting the puck out of the zone shorthanded (I think). The retaliation was just that. HAS to be called. One question, I thought that goalies couldn't go to the bench except for equipment issues. Lawson was there all the time. Did they change the rule, or was that in a different league?

I'm pretty sure the AA goalie threw that helmet off everytime. Certainly the time that Porter ran into the boards RIGHT NEXT TO THE GOALIE. The other time was when TJ Oshie's upper arm bumped into him (there was *some* contact that led to the bump.) But both time the goalie snapped his head back in order to draw a penalty (which wasn't called either time). The one thing you can say about Freisema is that he called it both ways. That gives AA an advantage but at least it puts Freisema above Don Adam.
