I like Genoway on the forward line better.

First a bit of history. When we moved from the old Barn to the Winter Sports building the talk was that it was too fancy and the fans were different. Sound familiar. In the early 80's the fans were louder than they were in the late 90's. (in my opinion of course). That gets to my suggestion. Prior to Ralph Englestads original gift of $5,000,000 the noise came from the fans. Some of the first money spent from the 5 million was a sound system. Starting then the PA would do their best to drown out the fans. Now in games there's never a chance for the crowd to get into it. The students start a cheer and the bozo on the PA starts some announcement that nobody gives a rip over. In the Maine series the fans were starting to get on Don Adam a bit and the PA guy drowned out the fans. Somebody mentioned that they'd like to get the season ticket holders involved in the cheers. It takes a while for the student volume to get up so the season ticket holders can figure out what the chant is. By the time I figure it out (admittedly I'm slow) it's usually too late. My solution is for the guys running the sound system to pick their spots. If the fans aren't going yet, play a song. Drop most of the announcements, nobody gives a rip anyway. As far as the band, we love them but they gotta pick their spot too. We didn't buy that scholarship to listen to the band.

I can see us ranked where we are. Our wins were against Wisconsin (great) and against two other teams. Our wins in Mankato were not confidence inspiring. On the other hand next week after our shut-out sweep of SCSU we should shoot up in the poll.

I'm waiting........

At this point do we really have an effective checking line? (as in days of yore?)

You could at least buy a ticket.

You must have good ears.

2 roughing and a 10 minute misconduct.

Dinks on the TV didn't replay the fight after I turned the TV on. I'm sure it's better for ratings for people to watch the refs trying to figure things out.

I think that the officials are in a darned if you do, darned if you don't situation. Sheppard probably bitches at them if they call it consistent and if they call it situational. I'm guessing it probably matters who's complaining to the WCHA rather than if their complaint has merit.

I think the guy that started it learned his lesson without a fine or suspension.

I don't think you're going that far out on the limb there. Right now he's the team scoring leader when we really really needed someone to step up.

I've hated 2nd periods friday nights ever since last week.

I've hated Friday night second periods ever since last week.

If I had to guess, I'd say that Shep probably tells the officials to do one thing one week and when they do that he's ripping the ref because he got a complaint from The Don or someone.

Don't ask don't tell, that's my philosophy.

Wasn't that against Quinnipiac? Speculating that the team might be better with different line combinations isn't an attack on the team.

How do you rip an 8-Track?

IMO Duncan's playing up to his level, but I haven't seen TJ or Toews up to their huge potential. Playing around with the lines couldn't hurt. Of course maybe Hak didn't want to play around with the lines against Maine and Wisco. Would TJ add scoring punch to a checking line? Create some havoc? Just a discussion point.

I wonder how busy a job being comic-star of the WCHA would be if you allowed someone else to worry about what happens on ice.

ugly knees.

We love have students there, We were students our selves. But where do you think the money comes from to have a great program like that? (The season ticket holders). The student line back when I went to school was that "we should ________ because part of the money for the Winter sports/Englestad arena was a student fee charge."

Did anyone hear Hakstol's post-game comments?

I'm on record to say that the refs had a bad game but they sure didn't make the team quit skating and otherwise stop playing their game. With all their faults IMO the refs didn't lose either game for us. And believe me, I'd tell you if I thought they did. -

I only say it out of the corner of my eye. I thought that it was a penalty (elbow) but I didn't think he hit from behind.
