  1. So rare I wasn't even sure if coaches were allowed to contact 8th graders? Obviously they can. For now it's just publicity, there is no way any kid is accepting an offer in 8th grade anyway and if they turn into a 4-5 star UND won't be on their list.
  2. I understand it's dangerous to compare one sport to another, but if you want to have the expectations then the support needs to be a little better for the struggling sports. Heck the chef for one sport probably makes more than the assistant coaches for the other sports.
  3. Probably obvious, but that is the weekend of the hockey game in Vegas. Gonna be lots of free football tickets available.
  4. Actually I saw a tweet from a familiy member that said he loved UND. Then the tampering started.
  5. Got a conflict for the 24th but optimistically scheduled a viewing party on the 26th in Waite Park/St. Cloud.
  6. Well, I'm not a great basketball mind and I may be way off base but the portal is hurting everyone, it seems worse because we are closer to our team. After 2020 season we lost a graduate transfer, an academic risk who bolted, and a couple of others for different reasons. This year we lost our best player to player tampering combined with the opportunity to play closer to home. The last 2 years has been an anomaly - yes for every school. Sather deserves a few more years - and will get it.
  7. Good to know. I will admit I have not looked at tickets the past few years because UND has not been a major player (also COVID). But in the future I can see making a weekend out of it regardless and hoping UND puts together teams that are playing past the first day.
  8. Recruiting 8th graders? Seems like a school would make a contact, take in touch occasionally and watch their growth, but what else would you expect UND to do with 13 year olds?
  9. Pretty sure we all know which ones is higher on the priority list. The next upgrade is probably already in the design stages.
  10. About time for a locker room update over there.
  11. Isn't the other advantage that those who attend get first dibs to renew their tickets every year so the SD fans have the best seats locked in every year. Make everyone get their tickets every year to level the playing field.
  12. You know what they say, if information is withheld people will make up their own.
  13. Even more honest, if Bubba had the resources and institutional support that hockey gets, things would be different. My opinion - Bubba makes it to 2025 then hands the keys to Freund, if he's still here.
  14. They all sting, but this one especially. Sad when young men have people whispering "You gotta watch out for you" in kid's ears at the cost of their integrity. So many coaches, team mates and staff invest so much time and emotion into them and they walk away. At the end of the day it's a college education they are getting at a quality institution. Those with low ethics who are creating this situation are ruining mid-level college sports.
  15. He gets a pass on the last two years from the real decision makers, and rightfully.
  16. Well the announcers are better than the ones who did the football game a few years ago. Once again proof that we have great media coverage.
  17. Follow-up - I got this on Twitter - I'm not seeing anything about radio coverage. Went to UND Athletics Pages and it shows men and women basketball on KSNR - which I can get through I Heart Radio - but when the teams play at the same time KSNR always has the mens game. Maybe it's posted somewhere out there but you would think UND would want to make it very obvious and easy to find game streams. Today's games are just one hour apart so it will be interesting to see what is on KSNR and how obvious UND makes it to find the women's game on radio.
  18. Pay attention, the point that was made was that the Internet link was wrong and someone suggested to use the radio as an option.
  19. Many fans do not live in Grand Forks.
  20. Yes it is frustrating, but if you are really a fan you would understand that the off season was one of the worst for losing players for various reasons and not just knee-jerky about this season. We have the right coach for building it back.
  21. This supports what many knew - football was underfunded and undersupported during the transition. UND athletic department just wanted to get through the transition as cheaply as possible.
  22. One "new" poster starts an assinine thread and now we'll have to live with it.
