  1. Thanks for caring. The NCAA has no reason to "up the ante" and wishing won't make it so. We know what the consequences were originally set up to be - no hosting and no logo on play off jerseys. It could change for the better but no reason they would change them for the worse when that is part of their original agreement. Sorry to disappoint you. As has been stated many times, hosting is a pipe dream in basketball and hockey, could happen in football but if given a choice between a name that has been a part of the school's history for 60+ years or someday hosting a football playoff game - I know what choice I would make. Keep in mind some schools have to wait 20 years between hosting a home football game. And again you can wish that it will impact recruiting, but the truth to the type of student athletes that UND recruits a scholarship is a scholarship, especially if the school has the major you are looking for - highly doubt that not being able to host a playoff football game will stop many true student athletes from coming especially with the BIG SKY on the horizon. Again wishing won't make it so. But thanks for caring and stopping by.

    Spring Game

I was there. Nice idea to create interest in football in the spring. The weather and the newness of the event probably contributed to the turnout, which I thought wasn't that bad. The participation by businesses and individual groups in the tailgating booths was very good I thought for a first time event I had more ribs, burgers and other stuff than I could handle, great quality and lot of fun. Again a little cool in temperature and the 8 inches of snow made it seem strange. But definitely something I hope they build on. It was n ice to be able to walk into the heated Alerus for the game, but if the weather were better the stadium would be a nice flash from the past, however, much less space for tailgating and I'm sure the Alerus didn't mind having the event. The game was enjoyable, not a game atmosphere but it was fun to see the team having fun. It was worth the drive (4 hours).
  3. I think we gotta ignore the bad seeds and root for an all WCHA final.
  4. I think I Googled "St. Paul Parking Ramps" or similar and came across a great map that shows every parking ramp around the Excel there are plenty of them. Also on weekends and after 5:00 you can park on the street for free. Does help you on Thursday but it could save you some dough on Saturday - okay I'm not overconfident just sharing my belief in the team.
  5. Really, I mean REALLLY!!! Anyone who comes to the chat room of another school with that kind of message is either incredibly immature, ignorant, stupid or just looking to stir the waters so they can go back to bisonswill and say "Geez the posters at Siouxsports are really terds all I did was ask some simple questions." I think the statistics that have been shared speak for themselves. UND owns the overall record vs SU (or similar to your post "The school down south") We owned SU in the last decade we played each other in football. SU had the glory years before the rest of the DII caught up in scholarships then they bolted when that became obvious. Then when they had almost double the scholarships they wanted UND to continue to play them, which didn't make sense for anyone but "The school down south". Now the ignoramous on their website refuse to move on and continue to feed their egos by posting negative comments about UND, even so far as needing to have a permanent Smack thread to hold their spite, anger and envy. UND will do just fine in the BIG SKY, we're glad you're concerned but as history has shown UND is committed to putting a quality team on the field in all sports and once the transition is over will be right on track to continue to do so. Enjoy the Summit you deserve it.
  6. Please repost instructions on how to ignore a poster.
  7. I think "Fighting Sioux" needs to be on the marque isn't that what we fought for? How about - The Fighting Sioux are in town - deal with it
  8. Sioux Pride.com I will be there. If anyone wants a Sioux Forever - Once a Sioux always a Sioux shirt I can deliver them there. PM me.
  9. It's not the games you win in December, it's the games you win in March. . .
  10. Wow there is going to be a lot of egg on the faces of the doom and gloomers - the NCAA will work this out with UND, if Florida State can keep the Seminoles and Illinois can keep the Illinil, they will find a way to accept the Fighting Sioux If not hosting is the biggest issues I can live with that - there are some schools that hadn't hosted hosted a play off game in 20 years - does that mean they were on double secret probation?
  11. I'm in. Did you say that Al Pearson's bus will be attending? Perhaps I can ride with them. But I'll be there regardless.
  12. This is humorous and you've got to admire the Empire's ingenuity for jumping on this. They should offer a $1 off or free popcorn to anyone wearing Fighitng Sioux clothing. On a related note if testimony on the bill is expected on Monday when will the vote take place - This performance will have no impact on the actual issue it just makes great news copy and good for the Empire!
  13. You will be able to purchase Sioux clothing you just won't be able to purchase new Fighting Sioux clothing. But there will be a huge market for used Fighting Sioux clothing.
  14. Well at least we can assume that the price of football season tickets isn't going to go up this year. I like to think the games are part of the package - tailgating, getting together with Sioux fans, the marching band, the team walking down tailgate alley, getting back to the campus and supporting the student athletes - but I sure am looking forward to that Big Sky schedule.
  15. I'm going to take the high road here and say they aren't going to expect everyone to repaint their tailgating vehicles. It was upsetting to read that someone on one of the committtees shared that the history of the Fighting Sioux needs to become invisible otherwise it will never go away. I don't think a part of UND's history for more than 60 years should ever disappear.
  16. What's the scoop on a Sioux Sports social in St. Cloud this weekend?
  17. Can someone send me a private email with Al Pearson's phone number, I can't find it online and I want to find out details about the bus to St. Cloud and the bus to the Final Five.
  18. It looks good for me attending the Final 5 at the Xcel this year. I'm looking for suggestions on an moderately priced hotel that would be close to the Xcel. Is there a specific hotel that UND fans use? If I end up going alone are there UND socials a person could attend? What about the best way to purchase tickets? Thanks in advance.
  19. Just a update on the Sioux Forever Shirts, the version that was at Sheels is not available anymore - UND asked that they stop selling them. There is a Sioux Forever Shirt available at Play it Again Sports, Fargo and Grand Forks or SIouxpride.com Just to clarify the shirts aren't associated with UND and are intended to support the preservation and history of the Sioux name.
  20. The Warriors (with a Thor/Scandinavian theme or icon) works - then we can "Put the hammer down" on opponents and use a Thunder Bolt/Lightning strike as a sound affect when good things happen - and lots of good things are going to be happening!
  21. Thanks to all we visited the site and placed an order.
  22. Yah and St. Cloud State is bigger than all of them, what's your point and whatever it is please make it on a different site.
  23. I stand corrected, but Prairie Rose Pink has a nicer ring to it.
  24. I disagree, when the urgency to win takes over everything else you end up with Best Buy situations. Yes we need winning seasons to bring back the bandwagon fans and thus the money, but not at that cost. Okay to get this thread back on topic. There is no way they would consider changing the colors - why would they, the colors have nothing to do with team names and logos. Actually the Prairie Rose color (what uninformed call pink) is one thing that makes UND unique and true to the state.
  25. Let them salivate, what goes around comes around, they need this for their ego and the constant "see this REALLY proves we are a better school than you are."
