  1. It wouldn't have cost you anything they were giving tickets away.
  2. Share your best locations for watching the tournament. We are hosting an "official" viewing party at the Ultimate Sports Bar in Waite Park, MN (basically St. Cloud). Casual event - they like having UND fans in the building and even have a Sioux banner displayed. (This is the offical lunch stop for the Al Pearson Fun Buses).
  3. We need to take care of business - Hak won't let them look ahead - there's a pretty good history for #4 seeds advancing in the tourney.
  4. My theory is that it's the result of some fans becoming "spoiled" fans...we have something great and some people start to take it for granted - they also forget that they are student-athletes.
  5. Their story was: one couple from Fargo, one couple from Wisconsin. They had to drive somewhere to pick up a car, looking for a "Perkins" drove past Hoggsbreath and saw the sign so they pulled in just before we started the festivities. They didn't sit with us (The two ladies wanted to sit on a high boy table) but they did enjoy taking part - thanked us and two of them won doorprizes. P.S. Everyone in attendance was inducted into the Sioux Forever Historical Preservation Society and awarded all the privileges associated with membership. Want to become a member - come to Hoggsbreath next year.
  6. I don't think this suggestion has been aired: STOP featuring gopher fans in the down time contests and on the big screen. They aren't in our conference they have nothing to do with the tournament. it is obvious a lame attempt by the production crew to add some emotion to the lame atmosphere that they have created and perpetuate. Another possibility is that the production crew is all gopher fans and they think it's fun to get a reaction from UND fans. Would the Big 10 conference ever feature UND fans during the Big 10 tournament - well they probably could and the 100 fans in attendance wouldn't notice.
  7. Back off the ledge - my opinion: While you know the team doesn't have the psyche or tradition to mail it in if you are going to stumble now is the time. This is a tournament for the fans - sucks to have to sit through two losses but in the big picture it has no impact on the future. The biggest mistake made in any type of sports is basing future results on past performance - it's what seperates the winners from the losers in weekly football pools as well. No injuries, as far as I've heard is the biggest win from this weekend. It's all business now - as past history has shown seeding means nothing in this tournament.
  8. Good turnout - we even had some Sioux fans stop in because they saw the sign - they didn't know anything about the social. The owner (Tom?) was very gracious, This is a great event to fill in the Saturday morning lull - 10:30 start time is very accomodating to a late night and the Hoggsbreath breakfast fare hits the spot. (Someone need to get our photo to a member of the hockey team - Burn the Ships!).
  9. Just have them put up a new sign that says "Bison/Gophers Suck" and all will be forgiven .
  10. Planning to arrive right around noon and check out the fan fest.
  11. "The Brave"
  12. Thank goodness we have alumns willing to participate in what to some is a no-win situation. Do you have any nicknames other than FIghting Sioux and No Nickname that won't "suck" in your mind?
  13. Last year there was more than a fair amount at the other opening round game - it was all green - but pretty quiet - nothing to cheer for and no rodents to root against. (I believe they were across the river playing in an empty building).
  14. Have to say whoever posted this false information on WIKI is assinine and it's triple assinine if they claim to be a UND fan and did it.
  15. What I like about De Rouen: hard-nosed, can score, not afraid of getting down and dirty. What I don't like about De Rouen: undisciplined, takes bad shots, makes bad fouls. Not sure what he's like in the locker room - appears he could go either way there. He does add some nice depth to the team just needs a little more court discipline.
  16. CMSioux + UND Friend flying in from Reno and I know of at least 2-3 others coming over that don't post here. Anyone staying at/near the Mariott City Center is welcome to ride with me I have 5 open spots.
  17. Tourny special on shirts at www.siouxpride.com contact me via PM if you want details - I'm heading out Friday morning and will have some with me for delivery at the tourny.
  18. All the majority here have ever said is that when comparing the Big Sky to the Slummit as far as which is better it is pretty darn close and varies from year to year - they are both lower mid-majors and one bid conferences. So when things flip flop it's fun to poke the bi-son. Remember what site you are on.
  19. Wait a minute the "weaker" Big Sky gets an 13 seed and "Mighty" Summit gets a 15 behind Albany and UAB - heads are going to explode. (Yes trolls I know UND isn't in this NCAA tournament - I know it's easy to forget what fan site you are on.)
  20. Well actually if he took his team his first year some would say he did it with someone else's recruits.
  21. Not only would UND have chosen the Big Sky over the Summit so would have FU - if they would have been invited. To say that FU was not interested in the Big Sky is misleading or outright false.
  22. Never said people didn't have a right to create threads and post opinions - just shared MY OPINION that a "Fire coach" threads create a lot of negative energy - which is an opinion I have a right to share. There is plenty of thread drift in every thread and they are actually like a train wreck you have to look just to see what happened. I do agree with your point that it's better to keep it in one thread - but that isn't working because the same people create thread drift in many other threads. I think by now we know how the Coach Firers roll and who they are. Could we just start using numbers to rehash the same points - you could easily save a lot of time by just posting "See comment #1" everyday.
  23. My only opinion is that a lot of negative fan energy is wasted on this topic - the season(s) were a disappointment, the AD knows it. Now if you have no trust in the AD then that's a different topic. Is it okay for fans to express displeasure - yup everyone's allowed their opinion - what gets old here is being told you are a Jones Apologist, apethetic, don't care about winning, etc when you join in the discussion. I don't think the Fire Mussman Thread had any impact on his job - prove me wrong - but it did create a very negative thread for more than two seasons.
  24. Geez - go back a few hundred pages the discussion on attendance - based on schedule, Tuesday/Thursday night games, loss of double headers, regional rivalrys, etc - has been hashed and rehashed attendance has been consistent. I do realize it could be better but the reality is when you are getting 12,000 people Friday/Sturday over at the Ralph that tells you what sport is and always will be more popular. Duke/North Carolina etc are all experiencing a downward trend in attendance - I suppose that is a reflection on the coaching? " A Chronicle of Higher Education analysis published in March found that about one in five programs has seen attendance drops of 20 percent or more over the past four seasons."
  25. I'm not questioning that there is dissatisfaction with the BB season this year - actually both seasons but I also have to say that any individuals opinion about "public sentiment" is purely conjecture - of course if you did an actual poll that would be quantatative and I'm sure with the bad taste of both seasons fresh the results would not be positive - I highly doubt the majority of "public opinion" would say the coach(es) need to be fired. Even on this board it's not the "general sentiment".
