  1. According to scout.com, Casey Jahn has committed to Northern Arizona.
  2. SFI blog on upcoming recruiting weekend: http://siouxfb.areavoices.com/
  3. You would think that's the case, but I'm not overly optimistic considering the question has been asked a number of times on the Wednesday Herald live chats, and every time Wayne Nelson has answered that he does not believe the SD Mines game will be replaced.
  4. Here's an interesting tweet about something that could potentially have a huge impact on FCS:
  5. Per latest SFI blog, Ross Dzuris has committed to Nebraska as a preferred walk-on. It seems like we've lost a number of kids over the past four or five years to preferred walk-on opportunities at both Nebraska and Wisconsin.
  6. Wow--this is quite a surprise! Hanson was a 3-star prospect by both rivals and scout coming of high school.
  7. I think the difference is that it's evidently made abundantly clear in football that unless a kid is actually going to play, he's going to red shirt. I don't recall a single instance where a football player did not red shirt, and did not play enough to be on the travel squad. I realize basketball is different, in that it's not so much of a given that a kid is going to red shirt. In the case of Antwi, I believe it was fully expected that he'd be a pretty big contributor this year. Not so sure about Gentry, although he was arguably more highly-ranked as a high school player than anybody else on the team right now, aside from perhaps Huff.
  8. DB Sam Foltz from Grand Island (NE) has been offered, and will be visiting UND on the weekend of January 20. He's a rivals 2-star prospect, and also has offers from USD and SDSU: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Sam-Foltz-122093?colleges=show#college_choices
  9. UND Fan--please delete some messages from your p.m. inbox. It's apparently full so you can't receive any new ones.
  10. I believe it was said, or at least strongly implied. I guess basketball must be quite different from football in that regard.
  11. This seems like a potential problem to me. I'm not questioning the decision by the coaches--just how it's going to be received by kids who apparently weren't mature enough to understand that red-shirting would have been in their best interests.
  12. Injured, or suspended again?
  13. As I see it, some progress has been made this year in terms of how the team has played at home for the most part. However, the road play continues to be a big problem, and there's really no sugarcoating that. While I certainly do not expect wins at teams like Kansas or New Mexico, the fact that we can't win at UMKC (USD won there tonight by 19) or Idaho St. (Montana won there by 24) is quite disappointing, as is the lengthy non-conference road losing streak.
  14. Now it appears Orender is NOT coming after all. Bizarre. I seriously wonder if the coaches read his tweets yesterday and pulled the offer?
  15. Not sure if we're the same as last year on the road, or worse, but we're definitely not any better, which is a disappointment IMO.
  16. Getting out of hand now--65-40. Nobody other than Huff and Mitchell has scored more than 3 points.
  17. 41-31 at the half. Huff and Mitchell have combined for 24 of the 31 points.
  18. I hope so. I really do. But even SFI is questioning whether this kid is the right fit, which seems pretty telling.
  19. Klancher was a red-shirt freshman. I am not aware of a true freshman starting at quarterback at UND in at least the past 30 years.
  20. I suspect not everybody is returning. But I doubt everybody is leaving either. Signing juco quarterbacks in back to back seasons just doesn't sit well with me. I hope I'm wrong.
  21. Fair point, but I think there's a big difference between taking a chance on a local kid with some baggage, and adding a juco quarterback from California who may have some maturity issues, and who may not have a grasp on reality. Hopefully he was kidding when he tweeted that he could have started for any college he's seen this bowl season.
  22. Apparently the UND coaches must have avoided it. A definite lack of maturity and/or common sense is clearly displayed there.
