Per wissports.net, LB/RB Joe Schobert from Waukesha West has committed to UND.

6'5" or 6'6", about 220; 9-man all state TE; good speed for his size; good basketball player.

In a way, it's frustrating that so many good FCS prospects are choosing to walk on at Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, etc. On the other hand, the ND FCS schools are also benefitting by the decisions of many of the area's best players to walk on rather than accept scholarship money from an NSIC school. In the past, I would not have expected to get players the quality of Schwarzkopf, Coyle, Arp or Larson to walk on.

According to an SFI tweet, a total of 28-30 new additions are expected between high school signees, transfers and preferred walk ons.

Per Vic Ames, it sounds like Ford is going the juco route.

Oliver reminds me a little of former UNO receiver Chris Denney, who was really good.

I haven't seen him play football, but I know he's a very good all around athlete--probably one of the top five basketball players in the state this year, and one of the best two or three 300m hurdlers. He was also named the ND football player of the year by ESPN.

He was in high school. I assume he'd be recruited as an "athlete".

Somebody on the ND Preps board posted that Mandan's Devin Coyle will be attending UND. If true, I believe he would be one of the preferred walk ons mentioned in the SFI tweet yesterday.

Judging by today's Herald article, which said there should be 20-23 including the transfers, there should be four to seven more.

Not that it particularly matters at this point, but NDSU reportedly offered Mollberg back in April (per a tweet by Kolpack). I would be very surprised if they had offered McGinnis before then.

Back to .500 at 10-10. Random thought--I wonder if UND is one of the only college basketball teams in the country with a .500 or above record despite being winless on the road? By my count, UND is 21-4 at home the past two seasons, and 4-20 on the road.

Does anybody know whether Bungum ever visited UND? FWIW, I believe he's from the same high school as current LB Damon Andrews.

O.K., maybe I just have a really, really short memory. Actually, I was thinking Wilmer had played roughly the equivalent of one full season between the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons, but I could be wrong. In any event, the redshirt junior class may have some sort of record for most combined games missed due to injuries.

I honestly can't recall another situation where a UND men's basketball player missed essentially two full seasons due to injury. He's really had some bad luck.
