It's interesting how many are picking UND to win by two scores (or more). UND's last road win by two or more scores? At Duluth in 2007. It's been awhile. Oh, and this just in--Dom Izzo has picked Sac. St. What a shocker.

All probably true. Of course, having little chance to play is better than having no chance to play at all. Quitting at UND probably effectively ended his football career. It's a good thing Goska and Hendrickson didn't quit at the first sign of adversity.

Just saw on twitter that he has committed to Davidson.

According to these Big Sky football notes: http://www.bigskycon...0917120919.aspx, UND's 41 points vs. SDSU were the most points scored by an FCS team against an FBS opponent so far this year.

I didn't have a chance to listen to the game against SDSU, but the boxscore indicated Kennedy started. Is this accurate?

Sagarin has UND at number 132 (23rd among FCS teams): http://www.usatoday....garin/fbt12.htm

Anybody know whether Daryl Brown is expected back this week?

With so few difference-makers on offense, and a pretty erratic defense during the transition, the fact that UND has been in a position to win a couple of games in the fourth quarter against FBS teams is quite an accomplishment IMO, particularly against Northern Illinois. Now, the offense appears to be legitimately explosive for the first time since 2007. If the special teams are strong as usual, and the defense can just play respectably, who knows what might happen?

Week 2: Potato Bowl 2012 - UND vs. Portland State

Fired two games into the season? I guess Brett Bielema doesn't have the market cornered in the overreaction department (fired his o-line coach earlier this week). -
Per Tom Miller from the Herald's live chat that just ended, Hooker's high school coach is none other than ex-UND player Broderick Powell, and he's assisted by another ex-UND player--Sherrod Russell. Also, here is a UND Sports Talk blog on the Hooker commitment: http://undathletics.areavoices.com/2012/09/12/und-receives-verbal-from-park-center-guard-quinton-hooker/

According to rivals, Hooker has 12 dI offers, so this is a pretty big deal for UND.

The 2001 defense made a lot of good offensive players appear pretty ordinary. Remember J.T. O'Sullivan? He carved out a fairly lengthy NFL quarterback career. But he couldn't get UC-Davis into the endzone against UND. Also, SDSU's Josh Ranek was held under 100 yards at the Alerus in 2001. -

Agree that time will tell on Adams. I think my opinion on him is a little skewed by the fact that despite the 11 td's while at Maryland his freshman year, he only gained a little over 200 yards, and then barely played at all his sophomore year. But if he can put together several more performances this year similar to what he did at the Alerus, then clearly he's the real deal. -
With this year's passing offense? No.

As much as it pains me to say, I'll go with Lamar Gordon. Even though he never had much success against UND, he was a third round NFL draft pick, which in and of itself is pretty impressive. -
I'm definitely not saying he is the commitment, because I have no idea, but I believe Jordan Hein was on an unofficial visit to UND this weekend. Not sure how many others may have been, also.
-
Per a Kotelnicki tweet, it sounds like there was a commitment over the weekend.

I still struggle with the question of whether it was the transition in general, or specifically the Sioux Falls game from 2009. I tend to think it was primarily the latter, and unfortunately we haven't completely recovered yet in terms of interest by the casual fan. -
Schobert made the Wisconsin travel squad, too. I'm watching Wisconsin at Oregon St. right now and he is on the punt return team.

I doubt either of them would have picked UND even with a healthy Hanson. -
